Against the Spread (Devlin Duckett)
The Vikings have come out of nowhere to win five of their last six games, and might make the playoffs. QB Kirk Cousins has been playing possessed, throwing for 300+ yards in each of his previous four starts. Cousins has thrown 11 TDs over that same span, while only tossing two interceptions. Behind Cousins, WRs Justin Jefferson and Adam Thielen, and backfield beast Dalvin Cook, Minnesota’s offense is on fire. Meanwhile, Tampa Bay has lost three-of-four and both the offense and defense has dropped off a notch or two recently. Even after resting and regrouping during the bye week, it’s hard to imagine the Buccaneers winning by a touchdown or more here. However, it’s also unlikely that Brady’s bunch will lose this game at home. In what should prove to be an entertaining NFC slugfest, take the Vikes +6½. Buccaneers 30, Vikings 26
Over/Under (Zack Robinson)
Kirk Cousins is playing better. He has thrown 3 touchdown passes in four of the Minnesota Vikings last five games, and just two interceptions.
Minnesota also have explosive receivers in Adam Thielen and Justin Jefferson (first Vikings’ rookie to reach 1,000 receiving yards since Randy Moss), and don’t forget Dalvin Cook, one of the best dual-threat backs in the league.
The Vikings average 26.6 points per game and the total has gone over in five of their last six games against an opponent from the NFC.
Tom Brady and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers come from a much-needed bye week.
Tampa Bay average 28.7 points per game (sixth best in the league) and the total has gone over in eight of their last 12 games against Minnesota.
Expect some fireworks and go over.
