Giants Streaking

The Giants continue to be one of the huge surprises of the 2022 season. New head coach Brian Daboll is clearly getting the most out of the players he has.

Daniel Jones is actually playing well at quarterback, something few people expected this season. He isn’t lighting up the stat sheet but, in previous seasons, he would always make a killer mistake.

He is not making very many mistakes at all this year. He had 29 interceptions and six fumbles lost in his first 28 games. This year, he has just two interceptions and no fumbles.

He has become responsible in his decisions and is protecting the football a lot better. And with that, Jones is enabling the Giants’ superb defense to step up and win games, which they have done repeatedly.

The Giants shut down the Baltimore Ravens and Jacksonville Jaguars in the fourth quarter of the past two weeks while the offense rallied. This is a team that believes every single week. Those who bet online are starting to believe too.

Seahawks Atop Division

Quarterback Geno Smith has been even more of a surprise than Daniel Jones. The analytics and passer ratings put Geno Smith in the top six of NFL quarterbacks in various statistical categories.

He isn’t Patrick Mahomes or Josh Allen, but in a year when Tom Brady of the Buccaneers and Aaron Rodgers of the Packers have struggled, Smith has been able to rise to the top 25 percent of all NFL quarterbacks.

The fact that he’s third in passer rating is a truly stunning development. No one anticipated this.

Smith presided over another productive performance from the Seattle offense last weekend. The Seahawks marched into SoFi Stadium and put 37 points on the board against the Los Angeles Chargers.

The more Smith continues to impress, the harder it is to call this a fluke. Maybe he is simply a good quarterback who needed the right situation in which to excel.

Smith certainly seems to have found a home with the Seahawks, who gave him a chance instead of trying to trade for Baker Mayfield or other quarterbacks on the market in free agency this past spring.

Giants vs Seahawks Prediction

The Smith story has been great, but New York’s defense has been greater. The Giants shut out the Packers’ offense in the second half of a win in London earlier this season.

They’ve been playing virtually perfect defensive fourth quarters all season long. If you’re not certain about taking the Giants with your NFL picks, you could also lean to the under.

The total sits at 44½ in the sportsbook but we should see a low-scoring affair in this one.
