Giants Brace for Henry
Derrick Henry is back and that could spell trouble for the New York Giants.
Maybe it was the early postseason exit or the fact that the Tennessee Titans hurt an already mediocre passing offense by trading away star receiver A.J. Brown, but the team that headed into the 2021 playoffs as the No. 1 seed in the AFC isn’t getting much love heading into the season.
Facing a Giants team that is projected to be one of the worst in the NFL could allow Tennessee to get some positive vibes going right away.
Time could be running out for both quarterbacks as Daniel Jones of the New York Giants and Ryan Tannehill of Tennessee will be asked to show some improvement in 2022. The fact that the Titans took Malik Willis in the 2022 NFL Draft was hardly a vote of confidence for Tannehill.
The NFL odds list Tennessee (+165) as the No. 2 choice to win the AFC South title while the Giants (+750) are currently fourth in the NFC East odds.

New York Giants
While defensive end Kayvon Thibodeaux won’t be ready for the season opener, the other top-10 pick in the 2022 NFL Draft by the Giants could be front and center, as Evan Neal is being asked to help improve a mediocre offensive line.

Plenty of eyes will be on running back Saquon Barkley, who has been slowed by injury over the last two seasons. Are second–year receiver Kadarius Toney and rookie Wan’Dale Robinson ready to add some pizazz to the Giants’ passing attack?
The release of linebacker Blake Martinez was a bit of a surprise. That leaves 10 of the 12 linebackers on the roster 25 or younger and that could be an issue against the physical brand of offense that Tennessee likes to play.
Tennessee Titans
The Tennessee Titans not only lost one of its best offensive players with wideout Brown traded to Philadelphia, but the defense took a hit when a knee injury led to Harold Landry being placed on injured reserve. Landry had 12 sacks a season ago and it will be hard to replace his production. Defensive tackle Jeffrey Simmons will look to build on a breakout season.
As good as Henry is, the offense will need to give him some help. Can rookies Treylon Burks or Kyle Phillips or perhaps Robert Woods fill the void after Brown’s departure.

Giants vs Titans Prediction
The Titans enter the game as a solid favorite according to the sportsbook with plenty of money coming in on the favored Titans.
It is not the easiest of schedules for the Giants in the early going with games against the Titans, Cowboys, Packers and Ravens in the first six weeks of the season.
Something to consider for those who bet online: The Giants have failed to cover in their last six games and are 1-6 against the spread in the last seven games against Tennessee.
The total has gone under in Tennessee’s last five home games. However, the 43½ total is on the low side of things.
