The New York Jets head to Lucas Oil Stadium to play the Indianapolis Colts on Thursday night football. The New York Jets delivered a 34-31 win against the Cincinnati Bengals 34-31 while the Colts dropped a heartbreaker in overtime to the Tennessee Titans 34-31. Early NFL odds opened with the Colts at -10½, with the point total at 46½.
Backup Mike White stole the show for the Jets and somehow finished with 405 yards and three touchdowns. Rookie running back Michael Carter also dazzled, showing off his dual-threat ability by rushing for 77 yards and reeling in nine catches for 95 yards.
New York’s defense got embarrassed in Week 8 against the New England Patriots but kept the Bengals’ high-powered offense in check. The Jets got their first interception of the season when Shaq Lawson tipped a Joe Burrow pass that fell right into his hands. It was a game-changing turnover the Jets have been looking for all season late in the fourth quarter to set up the game-winning touchdown.
Meanwhile, the Indianapolis Colts had every chance to put away the Titans but came up just short. The offense started out hot, taking a 14-0 lead, but ultimately fell with Carson Wentz turning the ball over with the game on the line.
Jonathan Taylor continues to run over opposing defenses. He finished with more than 100 scrimmage yards for the fifth straight game.
The Colts’ defense did a tremendous job of holding Derrick Henry, the league’s leading rusher, to just 68 yards on the ground but were shredded in the air for three touchdowns. The NFL’s 21st-ranked defense grabbed two takeaways but allowed 34 points.
