The 49ers added a field goal early but then saw Detroit score the final 16 points of the game. The win for San Francisco was highlighted by a passing touchdown from rookie quarterback Trey Lance to start the scoring.

That was the lone pass of the game for Lance. Jimmy Garoppolo threw for 314 and a touchdown on 17-of-25 passing. Deebo Samuel was outstanding for the 49ers with 189 yards while George Kittle compiled 78. The run game saw Elijah Mitchell rush for over 100 yards after Raheem Mostert was sidelined with an injury early in the game.

For the Eagles, after falling behind 3-0, they took a 15-6 lead to the locker room at halftime. Philadelphia held the Falcons scoreless in the second half and walked away with an easy win. The Eagles got great production from second-year quarterback Jalen Hurts. He finished with three passing touchdowns and 264 yards. DeVonta Smith, Jalen Reagor and Dallas Goedert all caught touchdown passes and combined for over 160 yards.

Miles Sanders is the lead running back for the Eagles, but rookie Kenneth Gainwell is going to fit in well with the Philadelphia offense. The Eagles were the lone team out of the NFC East to win their Week 1 game.
