Baltimore Can End Pittsburgh’s Playoff Hopes
With or without Lamar Jackson, the Baltimore Ravens can deal with a fatal blow to the Pittsburgh Steelers’ 2022 season. Pittsburgh is getting it done in the only way it knows how: through the tough-nosed defense. Tomlin’s crew has not allowed an opponent to hit the 20-point mark since Week 11. In fact, if you remove Pittsburgh’s three worst losses (against the three best teams), it ranks second in the NFL with 17.4 points allowed on defense.
If only Pittsburgh can get better production from its offense. The Steelers are 4-1 when it rushes for over 120 yards, which is the league average. If they can get the run going, the Steelers will be a viable NFL pick against the spread (ATS).
Ravens Also Rely on Defense
Pittsburgh’s arch-nemesis, Baltimore, is also getting it done with its defense. In their last four games, Baltimore has not allowed more than 14 points. It’s why the team has gone 3-1 in this span even with Jackson being injured and the offense managing just 11.5 points on average.
John Harbaugh remains tight-lipped about Jackson’s availability. Baltimore has already clinched a playoff spot so further risking his injury would seem short-sighted, especially when the Ravens already defeated Pittsburgh without him.
