Highmark Stadium in Buffalo New York will host one of the biggest season-opening tilts in Week 1, as the Buffalo Bills face the Pittsburgh Steelers. The two met just last December 13th, where the two-point favorite Bills came away with a 26-15 win and cover.
While the teams both look to get off to a quick start, the NFL point spread suggests it to be a little one-sided. The Buffalo Bills are laying nearly a touchdown at home. Though the line opened six and went as high as the full converted TD, you can grab this game at -6½. The total opened as high as 50½, sinking to its current number of 48½.
Josh Allen stock rose higher than anyone’s last season. The 25-year old from Wyoming opens as one of the leaders to win the 2021 MVP award. Allen has plenty of targets, albeit led by Stefon Diggs starts the season with a questionable tag and a knee injury.
Devin Singletary and Zack Moss expect to be the workhorses when it comes to the ground attack for Buffalo. The Bills also added Matt Breida to the mix to change pace a little bit. The Bills enter the season as the decisive favorite in the AFC East.
The Pittsburgh Steelers counter with 39-year old Ben Roethlisberger whose status as starter was all but assumed to be over at the end of last year. Roethlisberger will have many of the same targets from a season ago, with Ju-Ju Smith Schuster, Diontae Johnson and Chase Claypool leading the way.
Pittsburgh is expecting big things from their new lead running back Najee Harris. Harris was the 24th overall pick in the 2021 draft out of Alabama. He will take over the role for James Conner, who is now in Arizona. Joining Harris in the back field for Pittsburgh is Benny Snell and Jaylen Samuels.
