49ers vs Rams Betting Analysis
The Niners are coming off a humbling home defeat, losing to the Kansas City Chiefs 44-23 at Levi’s Stadium.
The Chiefs’ defense gave Jimmy Garoppolo fits while Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City offense ran circles around the so-called elite Niners defense. In short, it was a mess.
Garoppolo went 25 of 37 for 303 yards, two touchdowns and one interception. He was sacked five times, fumbled the ball for a loss once and generally looked uncomfortable.

On the heels of the defeat, the Niners slipped to a 3-4 record on the season and down to third place in the NFC West. They’re 3-4 against the spread (ATS) with a 1.7 winning margin on average.
Los Angeles Rams
The Rams went into the season as one of the betting online favorites to win Super Bowl 57, but seven weeks in and their chances of running it back are looking slim.
They are coming off a Week 7 bye. They enter Sunday’s pivotal divisional contest with a 3-3 record. This includes a 2-4 ATS record with a 3.1 losing margin on average.

The Rams went into their bye on the back of a much-needed win that snapped a two-game losing streak, However, beating the Carolina Panthers 24-10 is hardly something to hang one’s hat on.
Matthew Stafford has struggled all season long. He ranks 13th in the league with 1,578 passing yards and has just six touchdowns to eight interceptions to his credit.

49ers vs Rams Prediction
Although the Rams currently rank ahead of the Niners in the NFC West, their standing is a moot point. It certainly hasn’t translated to favorable NFL odds for this much-anticipated NFC West tilt
The Rams are the underdogs for the third time this season and second time at home. They opened the season as the +2 home pups only to suffer an embarrassing 33-10 loss to the Buffalo Bills.
Similarly, the Rams barely whiffed at the +2 closing spread in the 24-9 loss to the Niners at Levi Stadium. So, it’s not surprising that they head into this game as the notional home underdogs for NFL picks against the spread.
Aside from last week’s debacle (and the bizarre 11-10 loss to the Denver Broncos in Week 3), the Niners have played relatively well. They’ve had reliable (sort of) quarterbacking from Garoppolo and solid production from the offense, but it’s their defense that has been the main driving force behind their successes this season.
Kyle Shanahan will be relying on that defense to get the job done against Stafford, who’s looked very vulnerable in the pocket and has a negative touchdown to interception differential.
Jimmy G had a good game the first time he faced this Rams defense. He should do so again. Especially with Christian McCaffrey joining the team last week and looking to make an impact in the run game.
Back the Niners to bounce back against a Rams team that is a shell of its Super Bowl-winning self.
