Who Will Be at QB for the 49ers?
The 49ers looked just fine with rookie Brock Purdy at quarterback in a win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Sunday. With San Francisco already down injured quarterbacks Trey Lance and Jimmy Garoppolo, Purdy is now dealing with an oblique injury. He looks to be on track to play, but the same can’t be said about star receiver Deebo Samuel as he is expected to be sidelined due to an ankle injury. Running back Christian McCaffrey is also on the injury list.
Seattle might be without rookie running back Kenneth Walker for the second game in a row and having the game on Thursday rather than Sunday is probably not helpful as Walker works his way back from his own ankle injury.
Seattle is coming off a loss to Carolina Sunday that could prove costly to its playoff chances, while the 49ers not only have a two-game lead in the NFC West but are 4-0 in division play.
Per the NFL playoff odds, the 49ers (+350) are tied for the second-best odds to represent the NFC in the Super Bowl. The Seahawks (+2800) are sixth in the NFC championship odds.

Battle Tested
Seattle knows something about playing in tight games, with eight of them being decided by seven points or less. Being in close contests is one thing; winning those games is another. The Seahawks are just 3-5 in one-score games, leaving the Seahawks fighting to make the playoffs rather than competing for the division title.
A win on Thursday would pull Seattle within a game of the division-leading 49ers. However, the Seahawks will need a better effort from Smith.
