New Orleans Looks to Halt Slide Against Seattle
Seattle Coming off Road Win
The New Orleans Saints look to end a three-game losing streak when they host the Seattle Seahawks on Sunday.
The Seahawks started the season on a high note, getting a 17-16 win over Denver and former quarterback Russell Wilson. However, Seattle has stumbled since, falling in its next two games before winning a 48-45 shootout with Detroit last, putting the team at 2-2. All four teams in the NFC West are 2-2.

The Saints are off to a similar start, rallying for a 27-26 win over the Atlanta Falcons in their season opener. Much like Seattle, it has been downhill since, as New Orleans fell in its next three games. Losses to the Carolina Panthers, Tampa Buccaneers and Minnesota Vikings have the Saints last in the NFC South.
Seattle has the worst odds (+2500) to win the NFC West. The Saints, despite being in last, have the third-best chances to win the NFC South with +600) odds.
Let’s check the latest NFL odds, stats, injury reports, and NFL lines for Seahawks vs Saints. We’ve plenty of NFL Vegas odds for you to consider.
Seahawks’ Dismal Defense
Although the Seahawks are 2-2, they have had trouble stopping opponents, including in Sunday’s win over the Lions.
Seattle is in the bottom two in total yards allowed, allowing opponents to gain 428 yards and score 28.8 points a game, which is also in the bottom two in the league.
Against the Lions, the Seahawks needed to score 48 points while an injured Detroit team put up 45.
The Lions, without starting running back D’Andre Swift and starting wide receivers Amon-Ra St. Brown and DJ Chark, picked up 520 total yards, including 375 yards through the air and 145 on the ground.
While the Seahawks were able to outscore the Lions, making up for the lack of defense, that won’t always be the case. Aside from its 48-point performance in Week 4, Seattle has averaged 15.6 points in three games.
The Seahawks’ defense will need to be better at stopping opposing offenses to give the team a chance to win.
Saints’ Run Game Shows Up
While the New Orleans Saints have been struggling, one positive is the team’s ability to run the ball.
New Orleans averages 364.3 yards a game, ninth in the league, and 111.5 of those yards come on the ground.
Though the Saints’ No. 1 running back is usually Alvin Kamara, he has been sidelined with a rib injury two of the four games, leaving him with 24 rushes for 100 yards.
In his absence, running back Mark Ingram has stepped up, leading the team with 29 rushes for 128 yards and a touchdown. Tight end Taysom Hill has also been making an impact in the ground game, rushing 12 times for 116 yards and two scores.
With quarterback Jameis Winston out against the Vikings a week ago, a good portion of the team’s production came on the ground. Latavius Murray rushed 11 times for 57 yards and a touchdown while Hill also scored after five rushes for 21 yards. Ingram added 30 yards.
Though Murray was scooped up by the Broncos this past week, Kamara is also expected back against Seattle, signaling the ground game should be a key to the offense once again.

Seahawks vs Saints Prediction
While the Seahawks are coming off a high-scoring win over Detroit, the Saints are returning from London with a tough defeat to the Vikings.
Though Seattle scored more points last week than it had the previous three games, a stronger New Orleans defense likely won’t allow that to happen.
The Saints are in need of a win, and despite Winston remaining questionable, with the game at home and Kamara likely returning, New Orleans should bounce back and cover with a win at home.
