Straight Up (Gilad Chudler)
This will be a battle of teams coming off major upsets in Week 1. First is the Washington Football Team, Which beat the Philadelphia Eagles. Dwayne Haskins completed 17-of-31 for 178 yards and a touchdown pass. He also carried the ball 7 times for 17 yards.
Peyton Barber carried the ball 17 times for 29 yards and two touchdowns. He didn’t get a lot of yardage but was extremely effective when he needed to bel.
The Arizona Cardinals beat one of the Super Bowl Odds favorites and last year’s’ runnerup, the San Francisco 49ers. It looked like it was San Francisco all the way but two touchdowns for the Cardinals in the fourth quarter sealed the deal.
Kyler Murray had an impressive game completing 26-of-40 for 230 yards. He carried the ball 13 times for 91 yards and a touchdown, more than any other player on his team.
Not surprisingly, DeAndre Hopkins had a great game with 14 receptions and 151 yards. Overall both teams had a great start but the Cardinals are a much better team.
Against the Spread (Sebastian Morera)
The Washington Football team managed to win a tough opener against divisional rivals, the Philadelphia Eagles. However, the Eagles – Carson Wentz in particular, gave Washington plenty of opportunities to win. The Cardinals, on the other hand, managed to win over the reigning NFC Champions. All things considered, Arizona had the more impressive victory.
Kyler Murray was a big part of Arizona’s success. Although he finished with a 78.1 passer rating, he did have an amazing seven yards per rushing attempt average. That coupled with DeAndre Hopkins and Larry Fitzgerald as wide receivers make this Arizona offense quite deadly. Expect them to cover the 7-point spread against the Washington Football Team.
Over/Under (Zack Robinson)
The Washington Football Team surprised everybody, including them, in Week 1 with a 17-point comeback against the Philadelphia Eagles. QB Dwayne Haskins played well, made no mistakes, and RB Peyton Barber carried the load with two rushing touchdowns.
The defense sacked QB Carson Wentz eight times. Rookie DE Chase Young looked like the leader they have been looking for.
The Arizona Cardinals beat the San Francisco 49ers on the road, and the connection between QB Kyler Murray and WR DeAndre Hopkins (14 REC, 151 YDS) seems like the real deal. The total has gone under in five of Arizona’s last seven games when playing at home against Washington; go with the under once again.
