Washington vs Cowboys Odds
The Washington Football Team (6-8) descends upon the Dallas Cowboys (10-4) at AT&T Stadium for a Week 16 NFC East contest.
Washington fell Tuesday night to the Eagles 27-17, while the Cowboys grabbed a victory on the road against the Giants 21-6. Early NFL odds opened with the Cowboys at -10.5 and with the over/under at 47.5.
The COVID riddled Washington Football Team was dominated by the Eagles on Tuesday night, surrendering 27 points and 519 yards of offense. To put it simply, Washington’s front seven was out-worked by the Eagles’ offensive line as they gave up 238 yards rushing and 5.8 yards per carry. That being said, the loss almost certainly eliminates the Football Team from playoff contention.
The offense couldn’t generate much offense in one of the most important games of the year. Washington had to turn to Garrett Gilbert, who produced just 194 yards, while the running game didn’t add much, gaining 63 yards. Washington hasn’t been spectacular on offense anyways, averaging 20.2 points per game.
The Cowboys defeated their undefeated December against the Giants last week with a convincing 21-6 win. Much like it’s been all year, the defense dominated, producing their league-leading 31st takeaway, which included four on the night and their third consecutive game with at least four takeaways. Additionally, the Cowboys have eight interceptions in their last three games and have held opponents to 14.3 points over that span.
While the offense looked better than it has in recent weeks, there are still things to be sorted out. Despite producing 21 points, Dak Prescott has been in a bit of a slump as he hasn’t topped 238 throwing yards in his last three games, along with throwing three interceptions. Be that as it may, this offense has been solid all year and is league-best 8-1 against NFC opponents this year.
