NFC South Mock Draft
Admit it, you, just like us, didn’t think we’d see the day in which the Tampa Bay Buccaneers would be without Tom Brady anymore. It’s ok, we all thought that up until Brady’s beach message that he was finally calling it a career, we would continue seeing him and the Bucs continue to dominate the NFC South division.
And yes, we know dominate is a stretch if we look at how last season unfolded, but hey, we’re not here to dwell on the past, we’re here to talk about how each team will prepare and strategize for this season’s NFL draft.
Anybody Looking for a QB Please Stand Up
Can somebody please explain what’s going on with NFL teams in the south? Both in the AFC and NFC South divisions, it seems as if finding a new franchise QB is right up in all squads’ plans for both the NFL draft and free agency market.
With the Falcons, Panthers, and Saints all looking for new options at QB, all signs point towards that being their main positional concern heading into the draft. But with many more gaps to address, who should each team realistically be targeting come draft time?
So, What’s Next for the Bucs?
Remember the days in which the Buccaneers were running the show in the NFC South? Man those truly were the days huh? But now, as we head back down to reality, the question arises, what will Tampa Bay’s offense look like now that Brady is gone? And will the team be able to continue with their dominance of the division, or is a new era starting to rise down in the south?
Carolina Panthers Mock Draft
The Carolina Panthers went through the wringer last season. After they decided to flip the script completely within their organization by changing their head coach for the 2023 season and now, they’re ready to get going on their new look and culture.
So, what is the best way for the Panthers to kick off their new glow-up era? By focusing on drafting a QB with their first pick of the draft of course. The Panthers have enough young, up-and-coming firepower on offense to get something good going for them, as long as they can find a suitable and exciting option for their passer position.
On defense, the Panthers should be feeling quite good with the roster they have, with minimum tweaks needed to be done both up front and in their secondary. Here is where finding a strong, middle linebacker to further strengthen the depth in their roster should come in very handy.
As the Panthers prepare for a new era with Frank Reich as coach, who will the team end up bringing in from the draft, as they try to take over the NFC South division?
Atlanta Falcons Mock Draft
Man, what a rollercoaster of a season did the Atlanta Falcons have last year. After being pitted to be one of the worst performing squads in the league, the Falcons did not hold back, and while not holding a most positive record, they still did show some serious flashes of improvement and chops to work with in the immediate future.
As we head into the 2023 NFL draft, Atlanta’s main focus will be to spruce up various key positions on defense, a unit that lacked firepower last season. Atop their agenda, finding a new star edge rusher in the first round of the draft should be of the utmost importance.
Afterward, strengthening up their cornerback core, and defensive line, as well as finding options at wide receiver, running back and offensive tackle will also be front and center in Atlanta’s draft strategy.
With the idea of hopefully finding a strong QB prospect as well to back up their projected starter Desmond Ridder, who will the Falcons end up snagging up in the draft?
New Orleans Saints Mock Draft
The New Orleans Saints are tired of having to carry the weight of fans and critics always expecting the team to be contenders not only in the division but also in the conference in general, only to come up short. For 2023, the Saints know that the time to turn the ship around once and for all and truly make a run for the divisional title is right now.
As the 2023 NFL draft approaches, the Saints will be looking to make the most out of a rather meager number of selections, with the team not having any picks in the first round. With a need to make a change in their QB room, it will be up to the team’s efforts in the NFL free agency market to make sure they can find a suitable answer, given that all the top signal callers in the draft will surely be gone by the time they get to pick.
With other needs on offense, such as wide receiver and offensive guard, while needing help at defensive tackle and safety on defense, the Saints should be looking at coming up with one of the smartest NFL draft strategies if they wish to shut down critics and take off once and for all.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers Mock Draft
The time for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers to start their sailing without Tom Brady is officially here. Were they ready for it? Not probably. Will they still have to adjust? You bet. For now though, as we enter the 2023 NFL draft season, the Buccaneers will be looking to strengthen their defense as the main focus come draft time.
Finding new and bright options at edge rusher, a position in which the team needs some dire help, as well as finding fresh options for defensive tackle, and cornerback on defense will be right up there in Tampa Bay’s agenda. Now, does this mean the team will be focusing on a defense-first strategy in this year’s NFL Draft?
No. On offense, the Bucs will be looking to secure new and explosive options at offensive tackle, as well as running back and tight end, two positions that lacked firepower within the roster last season.
With the idea of hopefully finding a strong option for QB in the free agency market, what will the Buccaneers end up doing in the NFL draft? Stay tuned and find out.
