I love these Week 4 NFL Power Rankings, and the Chicago Bears move up, finally, after they made the move needed over a year ago: Ditch Mitch! Man, do I love NFL and betting all the football odds, because at the front end it feels like I won’t lose a single football bet Week 4. I feel the same this week.
Sometimes, like this weekend, things go awry and, as they say for a slogan that holds true, any given Sunday. We have seven undefeated NFL teams left after three weeks, and many that have not won a game. At least there was a semi-break of that crazy injury bug from last week besides the dreamy MetLife Stadium that had some victims again.
Russell “NFL MVP odds favorite” Wilson has 14 touchdown passes, which is the most after the first three games in NFL history. The Cowboys looked impressive again in their comeback, right up to the point that they didn’t.
Atlanta went and proved they can get up with multiple touchdown leads every week and still lose. Do not bet the Falcons no matter what the sportsbook odds make look tempting this week. Dan Quinn just went to the second-favored head coach to be fired. Nobody will pass Adam Gase until he is gone.
The Chicago Bears finally figured out that Mitch is not the hitch to them winning. The 49ers proved that it takes a team to win. Cleveland has a winning team feeling for the first time in six years. Philly decided a tie is like a win for them. And MetLife is going to change that field’s name to MetDead.
Now, let’s get to the power rankings.
1. Kansas City Chiefs (3-0)
(Last Week-1)
The fact that the Chiefs dominated the Ravens didn’t surprise me as much as the sportsbook odds at BetUS having them as three-point underdogs in this Monday Night Football game. This team seems to be one of those truly epic teams that defies the odds and actually keeps coming through when other teams usually end up failing. I am not calling them out as all that yet, but they have a better chance than any NFL team I have seen in decades.
Truthfully, the way they handled Baltimore surprised me and also put them up another level in my eyes. Kansas City started in number one for these NFL Power Rankings, and haven’t come close to being lowered this year. They may at some point, but for now this team is on the summit looking down.
Next Opponent & NFL Betting Line: New England Patriots vs Kansas City Chiefs -7, Over/Under Total NA yet.
2. Baltimore Ravens (2-1)
(Last Week-2)
The Ravens got dominated in every aspect of the game by the Chiefs, yet they are not moving from the number two spot in the rankings. This team will bounce back, and when they meet Kansas City again, it will be more of a champion and challenger meet than this was. You can count on it!!
Next Opponent & NFL Betting Line: Baltimore Ravens vs Washington Football Team NA, Over/Under Total NA.
3. Seattle Seahawks (3-0)
(Last Week-3)
Another ho-hum, 5-TD, and no interception game for MVP Russ. He really is Mr. Unlimited, and if you don’t know what I’m talking about, Google it. It’s worth it, and he is one of a handful that can get away with that. It’s awesome actually.
Next Opponent & NFL Betting Line: -7 (Ev) Seattle Seahawks vs Miami Dolphins +7 (-120), Over/Under Total 54½.
4. New England Patriots (2-1)
(Last Week-4)
Read Las Vegas Raiders info and put it on the other foot.
Next Opponent & NFL Betting Line: New England Patriots at Kansas City Chiefs -7, Over/Under Total NA yet.
5. Buffalo Bills) (3-0)
(Last Week-5)
Well, Josh Allen is still crushing it, and thanks to a marginal pass interference call in the end zone, he got another chance against the Rams and took advantage of it. Credit is given where credit is due in this case. I was fine with that since he is my fantasy football quarterback and I usually bet NFL odds with the Bills.
The Bills are undefeated and you can still get 16-1 in Super Bowl Odds at BetUS.com.
Opponent & NFL Betting Line: -3 (Ev) Buffalo Bills vs Las Vegas Raiders +3 (-120), Over/Under Total 52½.
6. Green Bay Packers (3-0)
(Last Week-6)
Aaron Rodgers is so angry at his team that you can’t tell anymore. On some of those throws he made this week, it looked like he was just flinging it across the living room. And it would travel 60 yards in the air perfectly in his receivers’ hands.
Next Opponent & NFL Betting Line: Atlanta Falcons vs Green Bay Packers -7½, Over/Under Total 58 on MNF.
7. San Francisco 49ers (2-1)
(Last Week-8)
This team is taking some hits playing at MetDeath Stadium, so you will see an uptick in their play and a downtick in their injury list. That is nice to see teams and brothers win, and that is why I like the 49ers and the Steelers the best this week.
Next Opponent & NFL Betting Line: Philadelphia Eagles vs San Francisco 49ers -6½ at New York Giants, Over/Under Total 45.
8. Pittsburgh Steelers (3-0)
(Last Week-9)
Are the Steelers lucky to get the Texans or what? They basically had to play against the Texans’ carcass after losing to Kansas City and Baltimore. Since this is a family article, I’d like to highlight that this is the first NFL game where there are three brothers all playing in the same NFL game – J.J., T.J., and RuPaul … just kidding it is Derek.
Next Opponent & NFL Betting Line: -3½ Pittsburgh Steelers vs Tennessee Titans, Over/Under 47.
9. Tampa Bay Buccaneers (2-1)
(Last Week-11)
Tom Brady is starting to get on the same board with his receivers, and I’m not talking about monopoly either. It appears this is a team that will get better every week with those weapons, so watch the F out! It is just taking a little time to gel with his players just like all the product in his hair.
Next Opponent & NFL Betting Line: Los Angeles Chargers vs Tampa Bay Buccaneers -7½, Over/Under Total 45
10. New Orleans Saints (1-2)
(Last Week-7)
They may have lost, but Drew Brees looked awesome and will keep shutting all the haters up. They will be back in the top 10 of the NFL Power Rankings soon also.
Next Opponent & NFL Betting Line: -4 New Orleans Saints vs Detroit Lions, Over/Under Total 54.
11. Los Angeles Rams (2-1)
(Last Week-12)
I was down on Jared Goff. This season, however, with the way they have the offense set up it has been a great one for him.
Next Opponent & NFL Betting Line: New York Giants vs Los Angeles Rams -13, Over/Under Total 47.
12. Arizona Cardinals (2-1)
(Last Week-10)
You lost to the Detroit Lions … at home.
Next Opponent & NFL Betting Line: -3½ Arizona Cardinals vs Carolina Panthers, Over/Under Total 52.
13. Indianapolis Colts, (2-1)
(Last Week-17)
This is a team that I have definitely underrated. Ol’ Man Rivers is proving he doesn’t live in a van down by that river anymore. He is a real quarterback.
Next Opponent & NFL Betting Line: 2½ Indianapolis Colts vs Chicago Bears, Over/Under Total 45.
14. Dallas Cowboys (1-2)
(Last Week-13)
Just call this team the anti-Falcons. But not even the anti of losing can beat Russell Wilson and the Seahawks.
Next Opponent & NFL Betting Line: Cleveland Browns vs Dallas Cowboys -4½, Over/Under Total 56.
15. Tennessee Titans (3-0)
(Last Week-18)
Titans won 31-30 over the lowly Vikings, but the main story is Derrick Henry. He beat, bruised, and bashed the Vikings until he finally got his first touchdown of the year. It is hard to believe but true.
Next Opponent & NFL Betting Line: -3½ Pittsburgh Steelers vs Tennessee Titans, Over/Under 47.
16. Los Angeles Chargers (1-2)
(Last Week-14)
You lost to Carolina? Wow wow man..
Don’t count this team out, because this quarterback Justin Herbert is possibly the next Real Deal after former heavyweight boxer Evander Holyfield. Oh yeah, BetUS has Boxing Odds too!
Next Opponent & NFL Betting Line: Los Angeles Chargers vs Tampa Bay Buccaneers -7½, Over/Under Total 45.
17. Houston Texans (0-3)
(Last Week-15)
There is a big sigh of relief in Houston this week, and it isn’t because they just saved 15% on insurance at GEICO. After getting mauled by the Chiefs, Ravens, and Steelers, they get to stay home and wait for Minnesota to come. AAAHHHHH!
Next Opponent & NFL Betting Line: Minnesota Vikings vs Houston Texans -3½, Over/Under 54.
18. Las Vegas Raiders (2-1)
(Last Week-16)
I feel for them. They were on a short week, heading West to East Coast for an early game after they won in a big upset … Oh yeah, and they had to go into Foxboro and play the Patriots after Belichick lost last week. OUCH! Poor Chucky never had a chance.
Opponent & NFL Betting Line: -3 (Ev) Buffalo Bills vs Las Vegas Raiders +3 (-120), Over/Under Total 52½.
19. Chicago “Teddy” Bears (3-0)
(Last Week-26)
It is a miracle, but Chicago is now allowed to enter the Top 20 since it finally demoted the reason it couldn’t enter the top 20 … Mitch Trubisky. Not that Nick is any windFoles but ….
Next Opponent & NFL Betting Line: 2½ Indianapolis Colts vs Chicago Bears, Over/Under Total 45.
20. Detroit Lions (1-2)
(Last Week-25)
Impressive that is the Matthew Stafford team I thought they were. Do it again.
Next Opponent & NFL Betting Line: -4 New Orleans Saints vs Detroit Lions, Over/Under Total 54.
21. Cleveland Browns (2-1)
(Last Week-22)
The Browns are over .500 for the first time since 2014 with that win, and Nick Chubb was the rub that made Washington so tasty!
I do wish Baker Mayfield would’ve chosen No. 13 for his jersey. That way we could call him Baker’s dozen and be talking about interceptions of course.
Next Opponent & NFL Betting Line: Cleveland Browns at Dallas Cowboys -4½, Over/Under Total 56.
22. Miami Dolphins (1-2)
(Last Week-24)
As QB Ryan Fitzpatrick said, the beard always beats the mustache. Fitzmagic looked more like a veteran Pro-Bowler than a hit-and-miss journeyman in this game. This is the first double-digit victory in 39 games for the Dolphins, and it will not be too long before the next one happens.
Next Opponent & NFL Betting Line: Seattle Seahawks -7 (Ev) at Miami Dolphins +7 (-120), Over/Under Total 54½.
23. Atlanta Falcons (0-3)
(Last Week-19)
LOSERS!
Next Opponent & NFL Betting Line: Atlanta Falcons at Green Bay Packers -7½, Over/Under Total 58 on MNF.
24. Minnesota Vikings (0-3)
(Last Week-20)
The Vikings were happy on two fronts after this game. They only lost by one point, which is an upside. They also had wide receiver rookie Justin Jefferson go off with Vikings fans mentioning Randy Moss when talking about him. That is a little extreme, but they are 0-3.
Next Opponent & NFL Betting Line: Minnesota Vikings at Houston Texans -3½, Over/Under 54.
25. Philadelphia Eagles (2-1)
(Last Week-21)
PROZAC!
Next Opponent & NFL Betting Line: Philadelphia Eagles at San Francisco 49ers -6½ at New York Giants, Over/Under Total 45.
26. Denver Broncos (0-3)
(Last Week-23)
Maybe it is just me, but Denver and the Broncos this year seem to be the most boring team in the NFL. For this game, they allowed 5,700 fans in and had 1,800 cardboard cutouts of the “South Park” characters in the stands. The thing is the cutouts seemed to be more exciting.
Next Opponent & NFL Betting Line: -3 Denver Broncos vs New York Jets, Over/Under Total 40 on Thursday Night.
27. Carolina Panthers (1-2)
(Last Week-31)
The Panthers beat the Chargers without the best running back in the NFL playing. We may have underestimated this team
Next Opponent & NFL Betting Line: -3½ Arizona Cardinals vs Carolina Panthers, Over/Under Total 52.
28. Cincinnati (Bangles) Bengals (0-2-1)
(Last Week-29)
Joe Burrow looks great, but the team as a whole constantly has to deal with Manic Mondays.
Next Opponent & NFL Betting Line: Jacksonville Jaguars +3 (Ev) at Cincinnati Bengals -3 (-120), Over/Under Total 48.
29. New York Giants (0-3)
(Last Week-27)
New Yuck, New Yuck.
Next Opponent & NFL Betting Line: New York Giants at Los Angeles Rams -13, Over/Under Total 47.
30. Jacksonville Jaguars (1-2)
(Last Week-28)
WOW, did this team make the Dolphins look like Super Bowl contenders this week? The mustache looked like a dead, infected caterpillar.
Next Opponent & NFL Betting Line: Jacksonville Jaguars +3 (Ev) at Cincinnati Bengals -3 (-120), Over/Under Total 48.
31. Washington Football Team (1-2)
(Last Week-30)
They need to change the mascot name to Not A Football Team.
Next Opponent & NFL Betting Line: Baltimore Ravens at Washington Football Team NA, Over/Under Total NA.
32. New York Jets (0-3)
(Last Week-32)
Sam Darnold started out with a Pick-6 last week and that is probably the upside. When Gase gets fired soon, then we can talk about any possibilities for the Jets. Unless they are going for the worst NFL team. They’re doing pretty good at that. And New Yuck, New Yuck since we have two NFL teams from that place.
Next Opponent & NFL Betting Line: Denver Broncos -3 at New York Jets, Over/Under Total 40 on Thursday Night.
