2020 NFL Power Rankings: Week 8

 Week 8 NFL Rankings

There was finally movement out of what I called the Groundhog Day top 3 as Seattle was knocked out of the top 3 of the NFL Power Rankings for week 8  with the Chiefs and Ravens locked in at 1 and 2. The Steelers and Packers stepped up to Nos. 4 and 5, and some of these teams have  Super Bowl Odds that have surprisingly high payouts at BetUS.com sportsbook.

Tom Brady has the most passing TDs in NFL history as of this week, and there will probably be some back and forth  between Drew Brees, who he just passed last week, and the G.O.A.T. You can bet NFL futures on all kinds of options that include both of these guys to have the most regular season passing yards in the online sportsbook player futures.

Bruce Arians said he believes Antonio Brown has matured, New England lost three consecutive games for the first time since 2002, Atlanta amazed us with a new way to lose and Adam Gase is still head coach at the New Yuck Jets. WTF!

And then there was one…undefeated team left. The Pittsburgh Steelers are the only one, but they get the honor of traveling to Baltimore and play the Ravens who are No. 2 in the NFL Power Rankings here. The Ravens are favored in Week 8 football odds at BetUS to end that winning streak at six.

You deserve to be updated on this incredible NFC LEast Division and the chances to actually make some money on them in these NFL Division Odds at BetUS.com. The Eagles are the NFL favorites in that division that has a 7-20-1 record, but two of those wins this week were from division games LOL.

Steelers are the only thing keeping us from having to see a full week of Mercury Morris popping champagne and talking smack. Don’t get me wrong. All the Miami Dolphins earned that right as the only NFL team to win every game including the Super Bowl (sorry Tom Brady & 2007 Patriots-almost), but for some reason Morris less by the end of the week. Jim Kiick, Larry Csonka…all good!

Now, your Halloween rankings and spankings

1. Kansas City Chiefs (6-1)

(Last Week-1)

LMMFAO!!! I can’t wait for this week’s Chiefs game, because Kansas City will put Gase to waste since the Jets’ suits obviously don’t have the nuts to do it. New Yuck is coming to KC to get the barbecuing of their lives’ and you can bet on it baby! BetUS sportsbook has KC favored by 20½ and they may win by 49.

Next Opponent & NFL Betting Line: New York Jets at Kansas City Chiefs -19½, Over/Under Total 48.

2. Baltimore Ravens (5-1)

(Last Week-2)

OH DAMN!! Oh yeah, it is true. The Ravens are coming off a bye week to play the last undefeated NFL team left in the NFL. Well at least the Steelers had a week to enjoy, but now the inspiration of Ray Lewis will reappear to turn the power out on the Steel City.

Next Opponent & NFL Betting Line: Pittsburgh Steelers at Baltimore Ravens -3½, Over/Under Total 46½.

3. Pittsburgh Steelers (6-0)

(Last Week-4)

And then there was 1 … zero losses.

Next Opponent & NFL Betting Line: Pittsburgh Steelers at Baltimore Ravens -3½, Over/Under Total 46½.

4. Green Bay Packers (5-1)

(Last Week-5)

I’m just spitballing here, but I am guessing the Houston Texans defense did not watch the game film from the week before when the Buccaneers made Aaron Rodgers walk the plank. This week Rodgers struck oil all over that Houston team, and it got filthy down in there.

Next Opponent & NFL Betting Line: Minnesota Vikings at Green Bay Packers -7, Over/Under Total 54½.

5. Seattle Seahawks (5-1)

(Last Week-3)

Who gives a crap that they lost the game? Did you see DK Metcalf chase a guy down with a head start? And that other dude runs a 4.4 in the 40-yard dash. Metcalf got to over 22 mph and got that guy. Also, Seattle lost the first game of the NFL season because their defense sucks so freaking bad.

But you know what else! This is so the time to bet them to win Super Bowl Odds at BetUS.com because they will have higher odds than they have had or will have all year. Not kidding this time. Do it…

Next Opponent & NFL Betting Line: San Francisco 49ers at Seattle Seahawks -3, Over/Under Total 54.

6. New Orleans Saints (4-2)

(Last Week-6)

Keep betting on Drew Brees, because his throwing and decisions looked crisp and sharp this last week, and the Saints needed it. They could have easily gotten beat by a hungry Panthers’ team with Teddy “Twenty Gloves” Bridge (over troubled) Water leading them.

Brees did get passed for the all-time NFL Passing touchdowns record by a Hall of Fame dude on the Buccaneers not named Warren Sapp. But Brees can pass him back next week in what will be a new record every week.

Next Opponent & NFL Betting Line: New Orleans Saints at Chicago Bears NA, Over/Under Total NA.

7. Tampa Bay Buccaneers (5-2)

(Last Week-9)

Since the Bucs waxed the Raiders 45-20 and Raiders beat the Chiefs 40-32, does it mean Tampa Bay should pass the 2020 absolute number 1 Chiefs in these NFL Power Rankings? Slow down, people. The Buccaneers have a lot more important things to deal with, like figuring where to find room for a prima donna wide receiver with a very large ego. And a bigger ME button than OBJ has.

Next Opponent & NFL Betting Line: Tampa Bay Buccaneers -10½ at New York Giants, Over/Under Total 47 on Monday Night Football.

8. Arizona Cardinals (5-2)

(Last Week-10)

Beating one of the final two unbeaten teams left in the NFL took two overtimes and a combined 1,091 total yards, but Kyler Murray proved the better man over Russell Wilson on this day. And the Seahawks have one of the three worst defenses in the NFL helped.

Next Opponent & NFL Betting Line: Bye Week.

9. Tennessee Titans (5-1)

(Last Week-7)

You can not discount double-check Ryan’s hope yet, because they only lost by three points to the Steelers. They are the last hope of keeping the NFL’s 1972 Dolphins team expensive champagne corked. By the way, in week 16 they will get discount double-checked by Mr. State Farm himself, Aaron Rodgers.

Next Opponent & NFL Betting Line: Tennessee Titans -5½ at Cincinnati Bengals, Over/Under Total 54½.

10. Buffalo Bills (5-2)

(Last Week-8)

Not giving up on this team yet but the Buffalo Bills looked more like Sloppy Joes last week against the Jets. They were never in danger of losing…C’mon Man! It’s the New Yuck Jets. But the offense needs to oil the machine and tighten the loose screws. There are more screwballs that are off than you think.

Opponent & NFL Betting Line: New England Patriots at Buffalo Bills -3½, Over/Under Total 44.

11. Los Angeles Rams (5-2)

(Last Week-11)

Efficiency is the name of the game the Rams seem to be playing these days and against the Bears proved to be the superior team. They looked good against an overrated team that they just helped let the cat out of the bag and the Bears out of hiding behind a weak schedule. The Rams have some hope but it will take more than a slow and patient offense to go far.

Next Opponent & NFL Betting Line: Los Angeles Rams at Miami Dolphins, Over/Under Total.

12. San Francisco 49ers (4-3)

(Last Week-13)

The 49ers looked way better than they are, and the Patriots looked way worse than they are in this 33-6 shellacking of a Patriots cadaver.

Next Opponent & NFL Betting Line: San Francisco 49ers at Seattle Seahawks -3, Over/Under Total 54.

13. New England Patriots (2-4)

(Last Week-12)

Bill Belichick can not be very happy. It is too bad he doesn’t love turnovers, because they have the second most to the Dallas Cowboys. Oh yeah, and his team laid down & let the ex-backup QB he dumped smash them 33-6.

Next Opponent & NFL Betting Line: New England Patriots at Buffalo Bills -3½, Over/Under Total 44.

14. Los Angeles Chargers (2-4)

(Last Week-15)

If you follow me on my Power Rankings and Best Bet articles, the Chargers -7½ were my winning week 7 pick for Barry’s Big Bet – Pick of the Week to put the season won-loss record at 5-1. The Chargers are better than most people think, and Justin Herbert is a stud QB!

Next Opponent & NFL Betting Line: Los Angeles Chargers -3 (-120) at Denver Broncos +3 (Ev), Over/Under Total 45.

15. Cleveland Browns (5-2)

(Last Week-20)

One of the two worst 5-2 teams ever, the Cleveland Browns can only go so far allowing 30 plus points a game to the enemy. Nice game by Bakers Dozen this week but now OBJ really is MIA after an MRI. That does suck and hurts the offense.

Next Opponent & NFL Betting Line: Las Vegas Raiders at Cleveland Browns -3, Over/Under Total 55½.

16. Las Vegas Raiders (3-3)

(Last Week-14)

This was a weird game on different levels. Raiders head coach Jon Gruden played the Bucs, who he coached to a Super Bowl win in Super Bowl XXXVII.

The team he beat in that Super Bowl was the Raiders, who he is coaching now. He also coached the Raiders for a few years up until that year he left them to coach Tampa Bay. That first year at Tampa was the same year he won the Super Bowl defeating the Raiders, who he coached a year earlier … It is complicated let’s say it is like kissing your hot first cousin.

Opponent & NFL Betting Line: Las Vegas Raiders at Cleveland Browns -2½, Over/Under Total 54.

17. Indianapolis Colts (4-2)

(Last Week-16)

Well, next week will find out who totally sucks and who is just mediocre when they play Detroit.

Next Opponent & NFL Betting Line: Indianapolis Colts -3 at Detroit Lions, Over/Under Total 50.

18. Chicago “Teddy” Bears (5-2)

(Last Week-18)

The Bears proved to be what they seemed besides that misleading win-loss record they’re sporting. After this loss by an average team at best, DUH Bears are definitely in the running for the worst 5-2 record ever. This offense needs help and the word Mitch Trubisky will never be the answer. And Nick Foles was missing the magic Monday in Los Angeles.

As far as the defense goes, that is the only thing that can save this team that seems to be gasping for air. The problem is that the defense seems a bit overrated, especially when they play an above-average team. If it weren’t for a late fumble return for a TD, this Bears’ defense did nothing to impress. This team is on the way to .500 and then lower. On the upside for them … Hibernation.

Next Opponent & NFL Betting Line: New Orleans Saints at Chicago Bears NA, Over/Under Total NA.

19. Philadelphia Eagles (2-4-1)

(Last Week-23)

VICTORY?!

Next Opponent & NFL Betting Line: Dallas Cowboys at Philadelphia Eagles NA, Over/Under Total NA½.

20. Carolina Panthers (3-4)

(Last Week-21)

Upper Middle Class.

Next Opponent & NFL Betting Line: Atlanta Falcons at Carolina Panthers -2½, Over/Under Total 49½ on Thursday Night Football.

21. Detroit Lions (3-3)

(Last Week-26)

This week Detroit will actually be called Lions. They demonstrated they really want to win and try to win. If they beat the Colts, this is a possible time to bet on Matthew Stafford as a longshot for NFL Regular Season MVP at BetUS. He is on and off this list and if he has one more good week he could do what he almost did last year in the MVP race.

Next Opponent & NFL Betting Line: Indianapolis Colts -3 at Detroit Lions, Over/Under Total 50.

22. Miami Dolphins (3-3)

(Last Week-19)

Miami is a great place to vacation and play and golf and go to the beach. But Dolphin fans and people around them will not be having fun this week when they release Tua to Aaron. I don’t know what Rams usually eat in general, but this week it is Dolphins.

Next Opponent & NFL Betting Line: Los Angeles Rams at Miami Dolphins, Over/Under Total

23. Houston Texans (1-6)

(Last Week-22)

Look on the bright side Deshaun Watson. You did just fine for people that had you on their fantasy football teams.

Next Opponent & NFL Betting Line: Bye Week.

24. Dallas Cowboys (2-5)

(Last Week-17)

Can somebody keep Colin Kaepernick on speed dial? I don’t care what whales he is saving!! Just keep calling him before Andy wakes up.

Next Opponent & NFL Betting Line: Dallas Cowboys at Philadelphia Eagles NA, Over/Under Total NA.

25. Atlanta Falcons (1-6)

(Last Week-24)

WTF! How in the Hell? RUFKM? How many ways can we lose? Hey Gurley! Why don’t you try to be more Manley next time instead of piling on your TDs? I saw the replays. I heard the interviews…QUACK QUACK QUACK.

Next Opponent & NFL Betting Line: Atlanta Falcons at Carolina Panthers -2½, Over/Under Total 49½ on Thursday Night Football.

26. Minnesota Vikings (1-5)

(Last Week-25)

Off a bye week and straight into the fire! Good luck getting packed this week!

Next Opponent & NFL Betting Line: Minnesota Vikings at Green Bay Packers -7, Over/Under Total 54½.

27. Washington Football Team (2-5)

(Last Week-30)

OK Riverboat Ron Rivera let’s gamble! Let’s buy into this actually being a Football Team, though we know that you are trying to fake us into it by putting it into your mascot name. You get ONE week.

Next Opponent & NFL Betting Line: Bye Week.

28. Cincinnati (Bangles) Bengals (1-5-1)

(Last Week-28)

Was that five go-ahead touchdowns back and forth in the fourth quarter versus the other brown Ohio team? They were so close to being only the Bengals, but after losing to the Brownies they have obviously decided to live the next 3 months in a Bangles: Hazy Shade of Winter.” Too Bad.

Next Opponent & NFL Betting Line: Tennessee Titans -5½ at Cincinnati Bengals, Over/Under Total 54½.

29. Denver Broncos (2-4)

(Last Week-27)

Take solace in the fact that a mile high is so baked that you guys have no idea how horrible and boring you really are. Now go into your routine, pass out … come to … wake and bake … bake … bake … bake … bake … bake … now you have the munchies but the problem is you didn’t bake anything but yourself remember? Oh yeah duuude totally! Followed by pass out … come to ….

Next Opponent & NFL Betting Line: Los Angeles Chargers -3 (-120) at Denver Broncos +3 (Ev), Over/Under Total 45.

30. Jacksonville Jaguars (1-6)

(Last Week-29)

Mustaches don’t score touchdowns … and they don’t win games either.

Next Opponent & NFL Betting Line: Bye Week.

31. New York Giants (1-6)

(Last Week-31)

Can someone please get the New Yuck Giants a participation medal? They tried so hard, and they came so close, and you know what else? THEY LOST!!

Next Opponent & NFL Betting Line: Tampa Bay Buccaneers -10½ at New York Giants, Over/Under Total 47 on Monday Night Football.

32. New York Jets (0-7)

(Last Week-32)

Fire head coach Adam Gase .. .idiots!

Next Opponent & NFL Betting Line: New York Jets at Kansas City Chiefs -19½, Over/Under Total 48.
