  • Odds to win Super Bowl +400
  • Odds to make playoffs Yes -N/A / No N/A

Buffalo used a three-game winning streak to move back into first place in the AFC East.

It finally had a game that didn’t come down to the closing minutes, that after four straight one-score games. Buffalo didn’t have any trouble dispatching New England It wasn’t as competitive as the 24-10 final suggested.

Devin Singletary doesn’t get the workload as other No. 1 running backs but has four touchdown runs over the last four games. Stefon Diggs remains one of the best receivers in the NFL.

Dolphins (8-4)

  • Odds to win AFC East +300
  • Odds to win AFC +800
  • Odds to win Super Bowl +1800
  • Odds to make playoffs Yes N/A / No N/A

Miami suffered its first loss in 2022 when quarterback Tua Tagovailoa started, as the San Francisco 49ers were impressive 33-17 winners at home. The loss knocked Miami out of first in the division. However, the odds to win the division have fallen (+500 to +300) in the last few weeks. The AFC title odds, which was +1100, is now +800.

Tagovailoa hadn’t thrown an interception in his first five games since returning. He had a pair against the 49ers.

The running game benefited by the acquisition of ex-Niner Jeffrey Wilson. That will be important. Miami can’t expect to win solely with Tagovailoa finding wideouts Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle.

Per the NFL betting lines, Miami’s Super Bowl odds have gone from +2000 to +1800 in the last month.

Jets (7-5)

  • Odds to win AFC East +2000
  • Odds to win AFC +5000
  • Odds to win Super Bowl +10000
  • Odds to make playoffs Yes -105 / No -125

Since they beat the Buffalo Bills, the wrong direction, with losses to New England and Minnesota sandwiched around a win over moribund Chicago. That’s negatively impacted Gang Green’s odds to win the AFC as well as (seriously?) the Super Bowl bet.

The Jets certainly have found creative ways to lose games, having surrendered the winning touchdown on a punt return in the closing seconds (at New England), and just 19 yards shy of the go-ahead score (at Minnesota) before a game-clinching interception by the Vikings.

The Jets benched a former No. 2 overall pick in quarterback Zach Wilson, turning to Mike White. That has helped the passing game, as has the development of rookie receiver Garrett Wilson.

The Jets are trying to complete an improbable season sweep of Buffalo before the next two games against 5-7 Detroit and 4-8 Jacksonville.

Cornerback Ahmad Gardner is emerging as the favorite in the NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year race. Wilson is leading the team (57 catches, 790 receiving yards).

Quinnen Williams is having a huge season (nine sacks), with C.J. Mosley already at 116 tackles.

The Jets have a 7-5 record against the spread, compared to 6-6 records by the Bills, Dolphins, and Patriots. Consider that if you bet online, as the Jets are the best-performing AFC East club.

Patriots (6-6)

  • Odds to win AFC East +10000
  • Odds to win AFC +8000
  • Odds to win Super Bowl +15000
  • Odds to make playoffs Yes +250 / No -325

It’s dropped back-to-back games (just the second time this season) to fall back to .500 and ended with just 242 yards in a loss to Buffalo. Now, last place in the division.

The Patriots’ next two games are against teams with losing records (at Cardinals, at Raiders), so it’s now or never if they’re to make their move.

It’s been a quiet stretch of games involving receiver Devante Parker, who has added some much-needed speed to the position.

Matthew Judon has been held without a sack in consecutive games (the first time this season).

The Patriots won 17-of-19 AFC East titles before the Buffalo Bills won in 2020 and 2021. The Patriots are in last place, but still in playoff contention. New England’s odds to win the AFC title have taken on water (+3000 to +8000, according to the Las Vegas odds) over the last month.
