When it comes to betting online, this can have a big impact on NFL predictions. Schedules influence regular-season wins or various future bets, like division winners. Some teams pulled brutal stretches, while others have favorable games to start or end the season. Here are the biggest winners and losers of the 2023 NFL schedule.

Winners

  • Chicago Bears

The Chicago Bears could enjoy a drastic turnaround. Following a three-win season, NFL odds have the Bears as a borderline playoff team (+150). Chicago pulled a favorable schedule. Outside of a Week 3 trip to Kansas City, the Bears could get off to a good start. They also end the season with games against the Detroit Lions, Cleveland Browns, Arizona Cardinals, Atlanta Falcons and Green Bay Packers.

  • Indianapolis Colts

When starting a rookie quarterback, the last thing a team wants is a challenging schedule. The Indianapolis Colts have two difficult games against the Jacksonville Jaguars and Baltimore Ravens within the first three weeks. However, the remaining schedule is quite manageable. Plus, Indy finishes the season with games against the Pittsburgh Steelers, Falcons, Las Vegas Raiders and Houston Texans.

  • Kansas City Chiefs

Somehow the defending Super Bowl champions avoided any gruesome stretches. The Kansas City Chiefs will play plenty of great teams, like the Philadelphia Eagles, Buffalo Bills and Cincinnati Bengals, but they have space between each heavyweight matchup. The Chiefs also have a great chance of starting with a long undefeated stretch thanks to a favorable start to the season.

  • New Orleans Saints

Before schedules were released, the New Orleans Saints were the favorite to win the NFC South by most NFL expert picks. It’s officially green light on Saints bets. Outside of divisional play, New Orleans’ biggest challenges will be against the Minnesota Vikings, Jaguars, New York Giants and Detroit Lions. Hitting double-digit wins is a realistic goal.

  • San Francisco 49ers

We could see another strong start from the San Francisco 49ers. Their most difficult game in the first seven weeks is against the Dallas Cowboys in Week 5. The 49ers are home in primetime for this game. The 49ers could easily begin the season 7-0.

Losers

  • Arizona Cardinals

The Arizona Cardinals could be 1-4 before the season starts. They will face the Giants, Cowboys, 49ers and Bengals from Weeks 2 to 5. Remember, quarterback Kyler Murray could also miss the start of the season as he recovers from a knee injury. Fade Arizona in NFL picks.

  • Los Angeles Rams

The Los Angeles Rams face the Seattle Seahawks, 49ers and Bengals to open the season. Then, they begin another tough stretch against the Eagles and Cowboys within a four-game span. It could be another long season for Los Angeles fans.

  • Miami Dolphins

Las Vegas NFL odds have the Dolphins at -115 to make the postseason. A difficult schedule will make that a tall task. Miami already has a brutal divisional slate in the AFC East. The Dolphins will clash with the Eagles and Chiefs during a three-week span. They will also battle the Jets, Cowboys, Ravens and Bills in the final four games of the regular season. Miami could need key wins in the finals weeks to clinch a playoff spot. That will be very challenging with this schedule.

  • New York Giants

In the first six weeks of the season, the Giants face five teams that made the 2022 playoffs. A strong start elevated New York to the postseason year. It could struggle at the beginning of the 2023 season. The Giants are +150 to make the playoffs. This number could continue to rise.

  • New York Jets

The NFL did Aaron Rodgers and the Jets no favors. They begin the season with games against the Bills and Cowboys. New York then faces the Chiefs and Eagles in Weeks 4 and 6. Fortunately, the Jets’ schedule cools off to end the season with matchups against the Texans, Washington Commanders, Cleveland Browns and New England Patriots. New York must find a way to navigate a challenging start to earn a high playoff seed.
