Aaron Rodgers Is in ‘No Rush’ to Decide His NFL Future
Aaron Rodgers Is in No Rush to Decide His Future, Should He Be Though?
Hey Aaron, Make Up Your Mind Already!
How long has it been since we’ve been waiting on former New York Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers to make up his mind on which team he’ll be taking his talents to next?
I feel like it’s been forever and a day following the Jets deciding to part ways with Rodgers. And it’s not just me saying it. If you check out any NFL news site, everybody’s been keeping tabs on what Aaron’s next move will be.

Still, it seems as if the former Green Bay Packers passer is in absolutely no rush to make any decisions on his future.
Is that justified? It depends on who you ask.

As teams continue to build their rosters for the upcoming season, with some already standing out as early Super Bowl LX winner odds contenders, the time for a veteran like Rodgers to find a new roster to join, especially one that can win now is closing faster and faster.
It’s extremely difficult to retire from the NFL.

Having played in 248 regular season NFL games throughout his career, Rodgers brings more experience than all other QBs in the league entering the season, all while still keeping an elite level of playing.
If you look at Aaron Rodgers’ stats from last season alone, even in a horrible year with the Jets he still put up some strong numbers in comparison to other starters in the league.
So what’s the problem here? If it’s not him as a player, is it him as a person in general?

Good on Aaron for being a stand-up guy for his community. If only he could take the same level of initiative to make up his future, that would make everything so much easier.
The Vikings Said Thanks but No Thanks
When looking at Rogers’ ideal destinations, the Minnesota Vikings stood as the preferred landing spot for the passer, even if the passer was gunning for a shot at taking over the Las Vegas Raiders’ offense initially.
Following in another Green Bay Packers legend’s trail, Brett Favre, the potential of Rodgers joining the Vikes following Sam Darnold’s departure to the Seattle Seahawks made perfect sense.
But then the Vikings decided to pull the plug on the idea, deciding to trust their future on last year’s draft pick JJ McCarthy as their go-to franchise passer for the immediate future.
QB UPDATE:
The “Aaron Rodgers to the Vikings” drama has officially ended. Thank the Lord.
Minnesota is moving forward with JJ McCarthy, and they are pursuing a veteran quarterback as a backup, but it is NOT Aaron Rodgers.

Would Rodgers joining the Vikings give the team a spike in its betting odds?
Probably.
Is it still a safe decision on Minnesota’s behalf to entrust its offense to a second-year rookie with lots of upside instead of going for a veteran looking for one last ride before calling it a career?
Definitely.
The Clock and Patience Are Ticking on Rodgers
Following Minnesota’s decision to not pursue adding Rodgers to its roster, speculation about if there’s any real market interest left in the future Hall of Famer has begun to spur.
And it’s not like Aaron is doing anything to try and keep critics at peace. It almost seems like in his delusion, he is feeding off the hate and using it to fuel his lagging decision-making skills.
One of the biggest talking points in the discussion has been Aaron Rodgers’ age.
With the league steering more towards younger passers, especially considering the league’s QB age average currently stands at 28.4, taking on a 41-year-old passer could be seen more like a risk than an advantage.
Let’s look at the Pittsburgh Steelers, for example, current favorites at -150 odds to land Rodgers at BetUS Sportsbook.
For weeks the possibility of Rodgers and the Steelers linking up has been making headlines in all NFL rumors sites.
But, unlike any other team willing to wait for the former Packers and Jets passer to make up his mind, they want an answer as soon as possible.
Known as a team where no BS is welcome, Pittsburgh is not backing down on their stance that if Rodgers wants to be a Steeler he needs to make a move now, especially if wanting to make a statement once NFL picks and predictions start to matter.
#Steelers DT Cam Heyward on recruiting Aaron Rodgers: “I ain’t doing that darkness retreat. I don’t need any of that crap. Either you want to be a Steeler or you don’t. It’s simple. That’s the pitch.”

In case Heyward’s message wasn’t clear enough, let me quote him once again just for clarity. “I ain’t doing that darkness retreat. I don’t need any of that crap. Either you want to be a Steeler or you don’t.”
So wait, does that mean there won’t be a new Aaron Rodgers documentary on his next decision?
No, thank God.
Unless he joins the New York Giants. That would make for a great cringe-worthy sitcom.
