Best Bets for Eagles in 2023: Super Bowl Bound

Many NFL predictions have the Philadelphia Eagles making it to the Super Bowl, heavily backed by sport betting markets.

The sportsbook has them at +700 to win Super Bowl LVIII, just behind the Kansas City Chiefs. Therefore, expectations are high, and with good reason.

Winning Should Come Easy

Our NFL picks have the Eagles winning plenty of games this season, and they’ll have to, given the current regular season wins total.

Our NFL betting odds have the line at 11 wins, so it won’t be easy for bettors to cash with the Eagles on this option, but we can’t see them losing too many games.

The Eagles have an excellent team on paper, and they are going from strength to strength. They might not have the x-factor of players like Patrick Mahomes, but they have a deep roster from top to bottom.

We love their quarterback situation. Jalen Hurts is the clear top choice, and his improvement following a rocky first two years in the NFL has been outstanding. Hurts is now a premier quarterback who can manage the game better than most.

Marcus Mariota is the backup, and the former Oregon Duck still has plenty of speed in his legs.

They have the likes of D’Andre Swift, A.J. Brown, and DeVonta Smith in the squad as well, so there is every reason to believe the Eagles will win more than 11 games.

Defense Pulling Out Stops

There is great value in our NFL expert predictions, including betting the Eagles to concede the fewest points.

Defense has always been a strength of the Eagles, and they’re on the third line of betting at +1200 with bookmakers.

Headlining the defensive roster are Fletcher Cox, Darius Slay, and Jalen Carter. Scoring points against them won’t be easy, and although the San Francisco 49ers are best-backed at +900, the Eagles could be stingier on defense.

“The one thing that we’ve agreed on and we’ve talked about as a staff and a group is there’s a certain mentality that we want to reflect,” new defensive coordinator Sean Desai said. “I really believe the city’s teams got to reflect the city, and we’ve got some grit, we’ve got some toughness, we want to be able to impose our will.”

There is excellent value here and we can’t leave it off our ticket.

MVP Honors to Hurts

The rise of Hurts has been quite incredible, and now it’s time for bettors to cash in for the former Alabama and Oklahoma quarterback.

He comes off a terrific season where he almost led the Eagles to a Super Bowl win. Despite losing 38-35 to the Chiefs, Hurts did all he could, going 27-38 for 304 yards and a QB rating of 103.4.

Hurts has every chance to win the MVP award and hasn’t been overlooked in betting markets. He’s on the fourth line of betting behind Mahomes, Josh Allen, and Joe Burrow.

Performing better than those quarterbacks won’t be easy, but he should be helped by the win/loss column. Winning more than 11 games will help his MVP cause, as opposed to Burrow, who could struggle to record double-digit wins with the Bengals.

The +900 odds for Hurts is a value price, and he’s the key to the Eagles’ 2023 success.

Winning the NFC Conference

The NFC Conference could be a two-team race between the Eagles and 49ers.

The Eagles are +325 favorites to win and the 49ers are +375, but the value is with the Eagles, who are the more playoff-ready team.

We don’t rate the likes of the Dallas Cowboys and Detroit Lions, who love to let down bettors, so we can’t get behind the hype. The Cowboys are +600 and the Lions +900, but we wouldn’t touch those odds with stolen money.

Philadelphia is a much better wager and doesn’t need to improve. The other teams all have something to prove, so take the smart wager and back the Eagles.
