Bills GM Brandon Beane Still Believes in the Roster and Won’t ‘Blow It Up’
After Another Heartbreaking Loss to the Chiefs, the Bills Believe Their Super Bowl Window Isn’t Closed
Another One
With Groundhog Day approaching, fans of the Buffalo Bills can’t help but feel like they are stuck in an eternal loop of high expectations, excitement, and then utter disappointment as the team falls short of a Super Bowl again.

Another Heartbreak Against the Chiefs
The Bills Mafia went from donating money to Mark Andrews’ charity to having Ravens fans do the same for Dalton Kincaid after his fourth-down drop at the end of the AFC Championship Game loss.
This new angle of Dalton Kincaid’s brutal game-losing drop is way worse than it looked live…
Also what the hell was O’Cyrus Torrence (#64) doing??

But general manager Brandon Beane has a vision for 2025, and it won’t include a shocking move like replacing coach Sean McDermott, who is safe for what will be his ninth year in Buffalo. You can ignore those NFL rumors of a coaching change.
At Beane’s end-of-season presser, he acknowledged the pain of falling short again. “It sucks. It hurts. But I’m not in the mood if you have to blow it all up. I don’t think that’s rational,” Beane said about a roster that will have 12 unrestricted free agents and two restricted free agents to make decisions about.
Most memorable line of Brandon Beane’s press conference to me: The Bills need to “keep kicking the door.”

Beane also acknowledged to keep kicking the door. “Keep kicking the door and you’re going to knock it down,” he said. However, it’s also true that the Bills went to four straight Super Bowls in the 1990s, lost them all, and have yet to return.
That’s not the only 0-4 they talk about in Buffalo these days either.
What Will It Take to Beat Kansas City?
Based on some NFL picks and predictions, 2024 was supposed to be a retooling year for the Bills after a significant trade sent top wide receiver Stefon Diggs to Houston. The betting odds still liked Buffalo in the AFC East, which it won for the fifth season in a row, but their young skill players ultimately did not deliver in Kansas City as the Bills fell to 0-4 against that team, their arch-nemesis, in the postseason this decade.
The Bills have won the second-most NFL games since 2020 behind only the Chiefs, so it really does come down to getting past that team, which every team in the NFL apparently needs to figure out as the Chiefs eye a Super Bowl three-peat and have been to five of the last six (another record).
Buffalo’s window is not closing with Josh Allen yet to turn 30, but there is the fact that no team has ever won its first Super Bowl by starting the same quarterback for the same coach for more than five years. The 2025 season will be Year 8 for Allen and McDermott, so with the defense annually getting roasted in the playoffs by the Chiefs, there could be a growing hot seat on McDermott’s time in Buffalo as Allen isn’t going anywhere.
#Bills GM Brandon Beane says he still believes Josh Allen converted on 4th down and nothing has changed his mind—even after speaking with the league.
He also addressed the Xavier Worthy play that was ruled a catch.

How do you beat Mahomes? The Bills did not look like they had anyone to pressure him quickly, so maybe making a power move for an edge rusher like Maxx Crosby from a rebuilding Raiders team could be in Beane’s plans. Maybe stealing wideout Tee Higgins from the Bengals is another power move.
Buffalo has been close and doesn’t need to blow things up, but there is a final piece missing to beat the Chiefs, and it’s either going to be a player who pressures Mahomes or someone reliable for Allen to throw to.
