Brandon Aiyuk’s Agent Denies Trade Request Rumors

What’s Going on Between Aiyuk and the 49ers?

Maybe It’s Time to Get Traded…

Fresh off a breakout season, Brandon Aiyuk has been the subject of many NFL rumors in recent months. He’s due for a new contract and is hoping to get one before NFL games are played in 2024. However, the San Francisco 49ers haven’t been aggressive in trying to extend him and that’s caused some frustration.

This has led to speculation that he’s going to request a trade and John Frascella went so far as to report that Aiyuk already has. That might not actually be the case yet. Aiyuk’s agent Ryan Williams responded to the NFL news and claimed that there’s no truth to the notion that he’s requested a trade.

Now, there have been plenty of times that an agent denies a rumor that ends up being true and Aiyuk does seem to have one foot out the door with the 49ers. That said, perhaps the wide receiver hasn’t directly requested a trade outright but has hinted that it’s what he wants.

Will Brandon Aiyuk Be Traded?

Brandon Aiyuk picked a good time to have a contract dispute. He’s coming off a career year. Brandon Aiyuk’s stats were very good in 2023 as he had 1,342 receiving yards and 75 catches. He established himself as one of the best wide receivers in the NFL.

Aiyuk is likely to get paid a significant sum and there’s a team out there that would pay him what he wants. The 49ers have so much money invested all over the roster. They’re already paying Deebo Samuel a significant amount of money. It’s difficult to see how they could also afford to pay Aiyuk.

Even if he doesn’t get traded this offseason, this could be his last season in San Francisco.
