Since this is a non-division matchup this will be the only matchup of the year between these teams. Last season, the Giants defeated the Buccaneers, 32-31, to take a 15-7 lead in the all-time series. New York has won seven of the last eight meetings, including a 24-14 victory in the 2007 playoffs.

Last Game
Tampa Bay has been on a tear of late. In the past two weeks, they defeated the Packers and the Raiders. The Buccaneers looked dominant over the Raiders last week.
Tom Brady is making NFL news, finding his groove and looking better than he did in New England the past few seasons. He completed 33-of-45 passes for 369 yards and four touchdowns against Las Vegas. Brady’s strong showing combined with a Tampa Bay defense that shut down the run made for a big win over the Raiders.
Trends
Brady has consistently filled the stat sheet for Tampa Bay this season. The Buccaneers have looked so good that analysts are saying this is a Super Bowl-or-bust year for the team.
Here is a look at the latest Super Bowl Odds
Brady is completing 66% of his passes this season and has an 18:4 TD-to-INT ratio. The scary thing about Brady is that he is getting better every week.

This season has been disappointing for everyone in the Giants organization. Saquon Barkley tore his ACL early in the season, and the Giants are still searching for their new identity. New York has been blown out this year, but it has also been in winnable games where it has just come up short. This was the case in its last two losses against Dallas and Philadelphia.
With six minutes left in the fourth quarter against the Eagles, the Giants had an 11-point lead and an 85% win probability. The Eagles went on to put together two 70-plus-yard touchdown drives before the end of the game to pull off a one-point victory.
The Giants need to clean up a lot this week if they want to play with the Buccaneers for a quarter, let alone an entire game.
Trends
The Giants offense hasn’t been good this year, but many of their losses have been on the defense. In crunch time, they haven’t found a way to get the big stop.
Opponents are 6-for-7 on fourth down and converting over 50% of third downs against the Giants this season. Teams can’t consistently win games with these numbers, and this has been the case for the Giants.

Point Spread
The NFL odds favor the Buccaneers to cover at -11. They’re 2-2 against the spread on the road, and this is their easiest game of the season. With the way Brady is playing combined with the third-ranked defense in the league, this is as close to a lock as you can get prior to kickoff. Taking the Giants at +11 isn’t as ideal with their consistently poor performances, and they haven’t covered the spread once at home.
Moneyline
This wager isn’t worth touching unless it’s in a parlay, and you’re taking the Buccaneers. The facts show that the Giants can’t play with the Buccaneers. This doesn’t mean they won’t be competitive, but I don’t have enough faith to think the Giants can pull an upset. In making your NFL picks, taking the Buccaneers’ moneyline will bring a small return considering their -550.
Over/Under
The Buccaneers are averaging 31.7 points per game. The Giants are giving up 25 points per contest. The Buccaneers will put up points, but they’ll need a little help from the Giants to go over. The Giants are scoring 17.4 per game, and Tampa Bay is only allowing 20.3 per outing. The over/under of 46 is low enough to believe that it will hit, even with a struggling Giants offense. If the Giants put up a few points, we should see at least 50 points put up between the two squads.
