With three weeks left in the 2022 CFL season, two playoff spots are up for grabs with four teams in the running. Winnipeg, BC, and Calgary have clinched from the West while Toronto has from the East. A few upsets from Week 18 only made the race more interesting as the CFL football odds should begin to adjust beginning this weekend.
Let’s check the latest Canadian Football picks, stats, injury reports, and Canadian Football predictions. We’ve plenty of Canadian Football expert picks for you to consider.
Where CFL Teams Stand Heading into Week 19
Winnipeg clinched a playoff spot in the summer. The Blue Bombers also clinched first place in the CFL. They also have home-field advantage leading to the Grey Cup. The Bombers are 18-1 at the IG Field since Zach Collaros became the team’s starting quarterback in 2019. They remain unchallenged atop the rankings.

1. Winnipeg Blue Bombers (14-2)
- Last Week: 1
The Bombers eliminated the Elks from playoff contention with a 48-11 blowout win on Saturday. And now that they’ve clinched the top spot, coach Mike O’Shea can start giving his starters more rest. This is where it gets interesting for Winnipeg from an online sports betting standpoint.
Next: Saturday vs BC Lions (10-5)
2. Calgary Stampeders (10-5)
- Last Week: 2
Calgary returns from its final bye with one mission: to secure a home game in the postseason. It will need to win its final three games as it remains tied with BC in the standings. It won’t be easy as the Stampeders take on desperate teams in Hamilton and Saskatchewan (twice).
Next: Friday vs Hamilton Tiger-Cats (5-10)
3. Toronto Argonauts (9-6)
- Last Week: 4
Just as we continued to doubt them, the Argonauts beat the BC Lions to distance themselves from their divisional peers. McLeod Bethel-Thompson had his best game of the season as he threw for 352 yards and the game-winning touchdown.
Next: Saturday at Edmonton Elks (4-12)
4. BC Lions (10-5)
- Last Week: 3
The Lions stumbled against the Argonauts and must now beat out Calgary to gain a home-field advantage in the playoffs. BC plays Winnipeg twice, in games where the Lions could be facing the Bombers’ backup players, and Edmonton.
Next: Saturday vs Winnipeg Blue Bombers (14-2)

5. Montreal Alouettes (7-8)
- Last Week: 5
The Alouettes failed to clinch a playoff spot by being upset against the Redblacks. Montreal has lost two straight against Ottawa and will look to even the series this Friday. If they can’t, they’ll have a tougher task of beating Toronto in a home-and-home series to end their season.
Next: Friday at Ottawa Redblacks (4-11)
6. Hamilton Tiger-Cats (5-10)
- Last Week: 7
To make it to the postseason, Hamilton needs heroes. WIth Dane Evans struggling mightily, Wes Hills and the defense carried the “Tabbies.” The running back rushed for 132 yards as Hamilton edged Saskatchewan to brighten their playoff hopes.
Next: Friday at Calgary Stampeders (10-5)
7. Saskatchewan Roughriders (6-10)
- Last Week: 6
Make that five straight losses for the Roughriders. The team continues to get hamstrung by a battered offensive line as quarterback Cody Fajardo absorbed seven sacks and could not get the offense going. Now, Saskatchewan faces Calgary twice in a bid to make the playoffs.
Next: Saturday (Oct. 22nd) vs Calgary Stampeders (10-5)
8. Ottawa Redblacks (4-11)
- Last Week: 9
Yes, it is still possible for the Redblacks to make the postseason. We saw how a quarterback change shot some life into this team. Now, Bob Dyce could have Ottawa fired up as the new coach. Ottawa will have to beat Montreal again then Hamilton twice. It’s doable though not something we’d bet online.
Next: Monday (Oct. 10th) at Montreal Alouettes (7-7)
9. Edmonton Elks (4-12)
- Last Week: 8
We can officially fork the Elks. Now that they’re in for another playoffs-less season, we’re still waiting for them to win a home game. Could this Saturday game against Toronto be their Grey Cup moment?
Next: Saturday vs Toronto Argonauts (9-6)
