The Bears and Seahawks get together with typical Chicago weather forecast for the Pacific Northwest. The clubs are playing out the string while on short rest after emotional losses to division rivals. The NFL odds favor Seattle, which will endure its first losing season since 2011.

Chicago was a 4½-point favorite in the Las Vegas odds when it defeated Seattle 24-17 in 2018. The Bears were covering for good in the second quarter. The 42½ total wasn’t seriously approached as the Seahawks scored the final points with 14 seconds remaining. Seattle won the previous three straight-up and against the spread against Chicago with those occurring from 2011-15.

Bears backers were ultra-frustrated with Chicago’s 17-9 loss to Minnesota on Monday Night Football. The Bears were hurt by three turnovers and four personal foul penalties. Chicago scored a touchdown on the last play of the game, so no extra point was tried as the Bears also lost as a seven-point underdog ATS. The total of 47½ when betting online was never threatened.

Injury Report

Rookie quarterback Justin Fields (ankle) was injured in Monday’s game and was listed on Wednesday’s estimated practice report as a limited participant. Wide receiver Jakeem Grant left Monday’s game with a concussion while wideout Marquise Goodwin (foot) was limited.

Seattle sealed a losing season with a 20-10 loss at the Los Angeles Rams on Tuesday. Bettors who backed the Seahawks at +7½ suffered a tough beat when the Rams kicked a field goal for the final points with 1:53 left. That came after Seattle turned it over on downs following a controversial no-call on what appeared to be pass interference against Los Angeles. A 15-yard unsportsmanlike conduct penalty on the Seahawks promptly put the Rams in field goal range. Under players enjoyed an easy victory with the total at 47.

Injury Report

Coach Pete Carroll said that wide receiver Tyler Lockett is nearing a return from the reserve/COVID-19 list, welcome news to a struggling offense. Cornerback D.J. Reed could also come off the list after also missing the Rams game. Wide receivers D.K. Metcalf (foot) and Freddie Swain (ankle) were estimated to be limited in Wednesday’s practice.

Betting on the Game

Chicago seems in disarray under the embattled Matt Nagy. The 2018 NFL Coach of the Year could be out of a job at season’s end after an embarrassing performance on MNF.

Snow showers and 31 degrees await the players. The total has dropped an appropriate 1½ points from its opening 44. The Seahawks are 7-7 ATS while 11 of their 14 games have stayed under. The Bears have lost five straight ATS, falling to 4-10 in 2021 with nine of 14 going low.

The Seahawks’ offense, led by quarterback Russell Wilson, produced only 214 yards against the Rams. The NFL predictions, though, lean toward Seattle – at least straight-up – as Wilson plays what could be his penultimate home game in a Seahawks uniform.
