Rookie Jayden Daniels is looking to keep the magic going, but the Washington Commanders are 6-point underdogs against the Philadelphia Eagles in the NFL betting lines. The teams have already split two games this season so it would be wise to consider some of the key matchups in the NFC Championship Game.

All eyes are on the quarterbacks as Daniels has been the story of the NFL playoffs during his rookie season. On the opposite site of this NFC East rivalry, Jalen Hurts is attempting to play through a knee injury.

For Daniels, the playmaking quarterback faces his toughest challenge yet against an imposing group of Eagles defenders.
Here’s what you need to know about the NFC Championship Game before making your NFL picks.
Commanders vs Eagles: 3 Key Matchups for NFC Championship
1. Can Eagles QB Jalen Hurts Avoid Turnovers?
Eagles fans (and bettors) should have some concern about a banged-up Hurts facing this red-hot Commanders defense. Washington forced five turnovers against Detroit and four of those were interceptions, per Commanders vs Eagles stats.
After throwing a career-high 15 interceptions in 2023, Hurts only had five picks this season. There could be some regression in the NFC Championship given this challenging matchup.
You could do a lot worse than snagging the over on Hurts interceptions for plus money at the BetUS Sportsbook.
2. Commanders QB Jayden Daniels vs No. 1 Passing Defense
It is not just Hurts that will have his hands full. Daniels is facing the league’s top passing defense in Philly, per NFL betting trends.

The Eagles defense allowed the fewest passing yards in the league during the regular season at 174.2 yards per contest. This is going to be a step up in competition for Daniels and the Commanders offense. Daniels did carve up Philly’s defense in a come-from-behind win on Dec. 22, throwing five touchdown passes, including three in the fourth quarter.
Washington exposed a Lions defense that had previously been able to survive a litany of injuries. Now, Daniels is going to have Jalen Carter, Nolan Smith and seemingly a bunch of former Georgia stars chasing him down for the right to advance to the Super Bowl.

Something to consider before you bet online.
3. Eagles RB Saquon Barkley Could Dominate Again
Washington’s rushing defense could be the weakest unit in this NFC championship matchup. The team allowed the third-most rushing yards during the regular season at 137.5 yards per contest, per Commanders vs Eagles stats.

Now for even more bad news: The Commanders face all-everything running back Saquon Barkley. The playmaker carried the Eagles past the Rams in the Divisional Round.
Barkley had at least 145 rushing yards in both of the regular season matchups against Washington. So yeah, in case you are wondering, Barkley’s rushing yards is set at 130.5 in the NFL player prop betting options.
