It’s not often NFL betting odds fans are treated to a third rendition of a divisional rivalry game in one season. For that to happen, a lot of factors need to be taken into consideration. For example, the most obvious is that both teams must make it into the playoffs.

Afterward, it’s all down to postseason seedings to determine whether two teams from the same division can face off for a third time, with the odds of it happening in a conference championship setting being as slim as ever.
In fact, since the league’s realignment in 2002, there have only been five intra-divisional conference title games, with the last being the San Francisco 49ers and Los Angeles Rams squaring off for a spot in Super Bowl LVI. The Rams would go on to win 23-20 as 3½-point Super Bowl odds favorites against the Cincinnati Bengals.
But enough with history, we’re here to talk about what really matters. We’re here to talk about the upcoming NFC Championship game on Sunday afternoon at Lincoln Financial Field pitting two NFC East rivals, the Washington Commanders and Philadelphia Eagles.
It’s Sirianni vs. Quinn, Hurts vs. Daniels, Brown vs. McLaurin, Barkley vs. Washington’s D-line. It’s everything any online betting fan would want to have for a Sunday afternoon of championship football, so let’s get to it.
Battle of NFC East: Commanders vs Eagles Betting Breakdown
Having only met in the playoffs once before in history, all the way back in 1990 when Washington was still donning the “Redskins” name, it’s a shame that one of the most heated rivalries in NFL history has only had one playoff rendition.
Until now.
Coming into this game, with both teams having won one of the two regular-season matchups against each other and no love lost whatsoever between the squads, is buying into Philly’s six-point NFC title game odds favoritism too much of a risk to take?

Or will the Eagles stop Washington’s Cinderella story season for good and move on to yet another Super Bowl appearance?
Saquon Hungry for Super Bowl Glory
If there’s one player in specific that must be already in cleats and pads waiting for Sunday to come, it has to be Philadelphia superstar running back Saquon Barkley, and for all the right reasons.
After being traded from the New York Giants to Philadelphia, a move that will hopefully forever haunt Giants General Manager Joe Schoen, Barkley took to his first season with the Eagles as one where complete and utter domination was to be the one and only tone.
Finishing just shy of breaking Erick Dickerson’s all-time single-season rushing yards record, Barkley pulled off numbers and stats that are exactly what NFL prop betting fans dream of every weekend. That included rumbling for 296 rushing yards and four touchdowns in two games against Washington.

It even begs to wonder if Barkley had shattered Dickerson’s record, how would his odds for NFL MVP have changed?
But Philadelphia’s season wasn’t just only about Saquon’s overall dominance. Throughout the season, Philadelphia once again showed why they are one of the most feared teams in the league, even when looking sluggish from time to time.
For fans’ consideration, since October, the Eagles have been riding on a 14-1 record, including the team’s two latest playoff home wins against the Green Bay Packers and Rams, respectively. Philadelphia also finished the season with the highest-ranked defense and with six players heading to this season’s Pro Bowl, per Commanders vs Eagles stats.
It almost seems impossible to find any flaw, or way to beat this team. Unless you are the one team who beat them and put that “1” in the 14-1 record – the Commanders.
Everybody Give It Up for Daniels and his Commanders
I still remember how before the season started, just as the NFL Draft had finished, people were already talking smack about how quarterback Caleb Williams, the No.1 pick for the Chicago Bears, would become an instant-impact generational talent that would sweep any and all competition for the NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year Award.
Meanwhile, another rookie QB out of LSU, by the name of Jayden Daniels, just stood there quietly, putting in his work with the Commanders after going No. 2 in the draft. While both rookies had their fair share of ups and downs to start the season, as soon as Daniels took off and starting leading Washington’s offense, there was no turning back in the NFL OROY odds race, leaving Williams behind in the hot mess that was the Bears.
Jayden Daniels is the Patrick Mahomes of the NFC:

With the Commanders, you can look at them for what they did during the regular season, which, while great at times, doesn’t really stand up and above to truly amaze or shock. Or, you can look at their two postseason wins, especially their Divisional Round road victory against the Detroit Lions, the top seed and heavy NFL betting lines favorites.
Staying true to their “Anybody. Anywhere. Anytime” motto, Daniels and the Commanders showed that doubting them could end up being the biggest mistake a team makes. Between the defense pushing Detroit’s juggernaut offense to commit five turnovers and the offense never turned the ball over, the 45-31 win is perfect testament that these Commanders are playing with absolutely nothing to lose and everything to gain.
Just like when they beat Philadelphia in Week 16 – behind five touchdown passes from Daniels.
A Final Peak At The NFC Championship Game Odds
So, with everything said and done, what are BetUS’ NFC title game odds looking like for Sunday?
Keeping it simple. If you’re a moneyline bettor, keep an eye on the Eagles at -280. Going into their third game as ML favorites, Philadelphia only lost one home game this season entering as outright home favorites.
Although, considering Washington’s road win against Detroit as away underdogs, its +235 odds should also garner ample interest, especially for people looking to get one more episode of this season’s Cinderella Story.
Moving on to the NFL spread, at six points in favor of Philadelphia, if I were the one putting up a few bucks on this game, I’d be looking at Washington ATS. With a 4-2-1 record as road underdogs combining the regular and postseason, and this team’s hunger for one more win, you know they’ll be leaving it all on the field, thus keeping the score close.
Last, but certainly not least, as far as the over/under goes, 12 of Washington’s 19 games this season have gone over, per NFL betting trends. Add to that both teams being ranked fifth (Washington) and seventh (Philadelphia) in total points scored this season, and what do you get?
Yes, the push to bet the over (47.5) here.
As a final prediction, me, Daniel Sáenz, your friendly BetUS neighborhood sportswriter, would love nothing more than to watch the Commanders defy all Super Bowl LIX odds and go for the Lombardi Trophy, but if there’s one thing the Eagles know how to do, it is to show why they have a title-winning pedigree that few other teams hold.
Today, right now, I’m all for Washington pulling off the upset. I guess we’ll have to wait until Sunday.
Question of the Day
How did the Eagles and Commanders fare in their two regular-season matchups?
Philadelphia won at home 26-18 in Week 11 and Washington avenged that loss 36-33 in Week 16.
