The question about who the best player is and where they stand in relation to the rest of the greats is always hotly debated when it comes to football.
However, not all players possess the same qualities that placed them at the top of their game.
But what if they did? What if you could take the best attributes of top players to build the ultimate quarterback? Using players from 2010 to present-day and combining their best skills, an unstoppable quarterback was created.
Best NFL Quarterback
Accuracy: Aaron Rodgers
When it comes to accuracy, no one is better than Rodgers. Not only does he throw the ball into tight windows with great precision, but Rodgers also avoids turnovers, leading the league this last season in touchdown to interception ratio, throwing 37 touchdowns to 4 picks.
Patrick Mahomes could’ve taken this accolade, however Allen comes out on top. Per NextGen Stats, Allen outgains Mahomes by three yards in terms of longest completed air distance, with Allen throwing a distance of 63.9 yards and Mahomes going 60.9 yards. And if you really want to go a step further, Allen also has the edge in throwing speed, as at the NFL. Combine, he threw it 62 MPH to Mahomes’ 60.
Decision-making and accuracy go hand-in-hand, so it’s no surprise Rodgers tops the list here, too. While the previous stat shows how Rodgers has avoided turnovers, he has maintained a high efficiency rate with a 65.3% completion rate in his career. Rodgers also led the league in 2020 with a 70.7% completion rate.
Leadership: Tom Brady
Brady has many accolades, however his leadership has been just as important to his teams as his skillset. While Brady has been in the league for over 20 years, he has rarely missed a game because of an injury, willing to play through them instead. He has also been willing to take pay cuts in order to win and has taken the initiative to bring players to the team as well.
Jackson is the best in terms of a mobile quarterback. Jackson already has two seasons with 1,000 yards rushing, with one coming in 2019, his second year in the league, where he set the record for most rushing yards by a quarterback with 1,206. Now finished with his fourth season, Jackson has accumulated 3,673 rushing yards, an average of 6 yards per carry and 21 rushing touchdowns.
