Broncos vs Chargers Head-to-Head
Denver seemed to take a big step toward the playoffs with a 28-13 triumph over the Chargers as a 2½-point home underdog in Week 12. The Broncos have won four of the last five meetings, all as a ‘dog when betting online. It was dicey for the game total of 47 when the Chargers scored the final points with 4 minutes, 34 seconds remaining, but Denver ran out the clock. The last two meetings have stayed under.

With their season on the line, the Broncos lost at Las Vegas, 17-13. Denver, a one-point favorite, took a 13-7 lead on Javante Williams’ 1-yard run 15 seconds before halftime, but yielded the go-ahead touchdown in the third quarter and a field goal in the fourth. Denver punted on fourth-and-16 from its own 44-yard line, and the Raiders ran out the final 3:54.
Quarterback Teddy Bridgewater remains in the concussion protocol and is out, leaving Drew Lock as the starter. The club will be thin at defensive tackle. DeShawn Williams.was placed on injured reserve Tuesday because of an elbow injury while Mike Purcell tested positive for COVID-19 Monday. It is unknown whether Purcell is vaccinated, clouding his status for Sunday’s game. Linebacker Kenny Young is questionable after missing the last two games with a concussion.

Next game: regular-season finale at Las Vegas Raiders
With a path to the playoffs in sight, LA laid an egg in Houston with a 41-29 loss. The Chargers were a whopping 13½-point favorite in the Las Vegas odds. The game was still under 45½ before 28 points were scored in the final 5:50. The Cha0rgers hurt by three turnovers, including Justin Herbert’s two interceptions.
The club sustained a COVID-19 outbreak that has affected all three units. Wide receiver Mike Williams, cornerback Chris Harris Jr. and safety Nasir Adderley have all been ruled out by coach Brandon Staley, an indication that all three players are unvaccinated. Kicker Dustin Hopkins and long snapper Matt Overton are also on the list. It is not known whether any others are vaccinated. Also, cornerback Davontae Harris and safety Alohi Gilman tested positive, while Pro Bowl safety Derwin James Jr. has missed two of the last three games with a hamstring injury.
Betting on the Game
The line could drop because of the Chargers’ personnel issues. Bettors, though, may be wary whether Lock and his wide receivers can exploit the depleted secondary.
After a horrible oss at Houston, Los Angeles will need help making playoffs. The simplest way? The Chargers must win their final two games and have either Baltimore or Miami lose once to reach the postseason.
Both the Broncos and Chargers are 7-8 against the spread, with each failing in their last two. Those who backed the Broncos at over 8½ wins in 2021 have their backs against the wall after Denver’s recent tailspin.
NFL predictions have become harder to make, and this game is no exception. Twelve of Denver’s 15 games have stayed under, though, so that could be the way to go.
