The Miami Dolphins and Tennessee Titans couldn’t have taken more distinct paths to where they are right now.
Miami dropped seven straight games after a season-opening win over New England and was written off as playoff contenders by midseason before ripping off seven wins in a row.
Tennessee, despite baffling losses to the New York Jets and Houston Texans, was fighting for the best record in the AFC at one point, but three losses in four games put the Titans in a position to try to hold off the Indianapolis Colts to win the AFC South title.
Tennessee is only a game behind Kansas City for the best record in the AFC and defeated the two-time defending AFC champions earlier this season, so getting that top seed is still in play.
Something to ponder for those who bet online, Tennessee is 5-2 in one-score games and 6-2 at home. The latter number is a huge reason why the Titans are favored against the red-hot Dolphins. Winning on the road has been a bit of a struggle for the Dolphins, who are just 3-4 away from home.
The Dolphins have allowed 10 points or less five times during its current seven-game winning streak.
The Titans (+800) have the fifth-best odds to represent the AFC in the Super Bowl while the Dolphins (+5000) have the 10th-best odds.

Betting on the Game
Miami leads the NFL with 45 sacks and will look to rattle Tennessee quarterback Ryan Tannehill who started his pro career with the Dolphins. Even without the injured Derrick Henry, the Titans prefer to lean on its running game as Tennessee has the fourth-best rushing offense in the NFL.
Turnovers have been an issue for Tennessee as only Jacksonville and the New York Jets have more giveaways this season than the 25 committed by the Titans.
Miami has covered in six of its last seven games and is 5-2 against the spread in its last seven games against Tennessee.
The total has gone under in six of Miami’s last eight games and in four of Tennessee’s last five games, but a different trend has emerged in the Titans’ games against Miami as five of the last seven Dolphins-Titans games have gone over the total, including four of the last five times Tennessee played host to Miami.
