Eagles vs Colts: Twice on Sunday for Saturday?

Indy Last Beat Philly in 2006

You often hear about one team having another team’s “number” regarding dominating them regularly. While the Eagles and Colts don’t play regularly, the Eagles have been dominating this series for the past decade and a half.

The Colts and Eagles haven’t played in a few years, but there is a bigger gap between the two than in 2018.

Let’s check the latest NFL picks, stats, injury reports, and NFL predictions. We’ve plenty of NFL expert picks for you to consider.

The Eagles enter this week coming off a loss, but it was their first of the season and was bound to happen at some point. The issue with the loss is that it came against a weak division rival in the Washington Commanders.

Kudos to Washington for spotting a gap in the Eagles’ defense and exploiting it. That gap was the lack of rushing defense in the wake of injuries to Jordan Davis and Marlon Tuipulotu, who both landed on IR recently.

Following the loss, the Eagles responded quickly and signed veterans Linval Joseph and Ndamukong Suh within 24 hours of Tuipulotu going on IR. Suh, 35, suited up in all 17 regular-season games for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers last season and had six sacks and seven tackles for loss. Joseph, 34, started 14 games for the Chargers in 2021 with 30 solo tackles and one sack.

What their impact in Week 11, if any, remains to be seen.

It leaves the middle wide open for Jonathan Taylor to work his magic if they don’t play. It’s the Colts’ only clear path to victory with a crusty old version of Matt Ryan back in the driver’s seat after Jeff Saturday was named interim coach last week.

Ryan rewarded Saturday’s faith in him by leading the Colts to victory in Week 10 against the Raiders 25-20, but Las Vegas is awful and Indy beat them by less than a touchdown. To his credit, Ryan didn’t make many mistakes with a 21-for-28 performance. But he wasn’t that impressive either, with 222 yards and one touchdown.

The Eagle’s defense is one of the highest-ranking in the NFL at takeaways, while the Colts are one of the worst offenses at giveaways. The turnover margin at the end of the game will have a lot to do with determining who comes out on top.

When looking at the NFL betting lines, a few player props jump off the page in this Week 11 matchup.

The Las Vegas odds have the Eagles at -290 to keep their nearly two-decade win streak over the Colts alive.

Ryan Should Return to Form vs Philly

When we say return to form, we don’t mean back to his days as a superstar in Atlanta. We are referring to his early-season form, where Ryan had three multi-interception games, including three against the Jaguars in Week 2.

Despite missing a few weeks following a benching, Ryan still ranks 33rd in the NFL among qualified starters with nine picks.

Don’t be fooled by last week’s performance. Ryan will have to be very careful this week, and we don’t see him emerging unscathed.

  • The Pick: Defensive or Special Teams TD (+210)
