Five Quarterbacks Lead NFL MVP Race

It’s No Surprise

Let’s check the latest NFL picks, stats, injury reports and NFL predictions. We’ve plenty of NFL expert picks for you to consider.

  • Josh Allen (+150)

The Buffalo Bills’ quarterback is in a prime position to win his first MVP award. In 2020, Allen finished second behind Aaron Rodgers, whose back-to-back streak won’t extend..

Allen is leading one of the NFL’s best teams and Super Bowl favorites (+300). Before the Bills’ bye week, the fifth-year quarterback was leading the NFL (1,980 passing yards 17 touchdowns). He has a 109.1 passer rating. Allen was taken to become the best quarterback in 2022, and has been that.

  • Jalen Hurts (+400)

Quarterback Jalen Hurts is a surprise candidate that few anticipated. The Philadelphia Eagles (6-0) are the NFL’s last undefeated team, and second choice (+550) to win the title. It’s Hurts’ massive improvement that’s been one of the main reasons Philly has succeeded.

A 98.4 passer rating (compared to 87.2 last season), and his down-the-field accuracy has helped make the Eagles’ offense one of the best in the league (12 last season in points per game now at fourth). Also, Hurts’ legs have been something opposing defenses can’t solve. Philly’s utilization of a run-pass option offense has worked very well to date.

  • Patrick Mahomes (+550)

Since winning the award in the 2018 season, Patrick Mahomes has been perhaps the best player in the NFLr. Once again, he is leading a successful Kansas City Chiefs team, and once again, he’s in MVP contention.

The Texas Tech product had a rough start to 2021, with turnover issues and forcing the ball downfield too often. Mahomes then developed patience, taking what the defense allows. He has carried that over to the 2022 season, leading the league in both passing yards (2,159) and touchdowns (20). (As was mentioned above, Josh Allen led these categories before the Bills’ bye last Sunday), This is the Mahomes we’ve seen, completing improbable throws with unbelievable arm strength and body control.

  • Lamar Jackson (+800)

The Baltimore Ravens are 4-3, leading the AFC North. Quarterback Lamar Jackson has returned to his MVP form. He had a 117.1 passer rating through the first three games of the season, but inconsistent accuracy has returned in recent weeks, thus lowering his MVP stock.

He’s never out of the picture, however, as the Ravens remain one of the best teams in the conference. With his elite speed and lethal cuts, Jackson’s a tall task that the opposition can’t figure. However, to win this award, accuracy must return.

Joe Burrow (+2500)

Quarterback Joe Burrow is a sleeper MVP pick. As the defending conference champions, the Cincinnati Bengals were slow out of the gate, especially on offense. Since a 19-17 loss to the Ravens, Cincy’s offense has finally found its rhythm, 65 points over the last two games.

At his current pace, Burrow could quickly climb the ladder in this wagering. The last two games have seen Burrow compile 781 passing yards, six touchdowns (78.5 completion percentage). Along with Mahomes and Allen, Burrow has the marquee stats among the quarterbacks. He’s second with 2,097 passing yards, third with 15 touchdowns. Do not sleep on Burrow.
