The Jacksonville Jaguars are among the NFL teams with legitimate NFL playoff lines to win the Super Bowl. Heading into Week 14, Jacksonville sits eighth in Super Bowl odds at +2000. The Jaguars are the fifth AFC team in the current title odds.
The Jaguars’ chances to not only win the Super Bowl but snag the AFC South took a hit after Trevor Lawrence’s ankle injury. Jacksonville is 8-4 just one game ahead of both Houston and Indianapolis for the division lead.

Lawrence’s injury is being deemed a high-ankle sprain and is not expected to require surgery. The Jags quarterback is likely to miss time, but there is no indication that it is season-ending for Lawrence.
Let’s take a look back at the Jaguars season and their chances to win the franchise’s first-ever Lombardi Trophy.
Jaguars Take Slight Step Back From 2022
The Jaguars boast wins over the Buffalo Bills, Indianapolis Colts, Pittsburgh Steelers and Houston Texans this season. Jacksonville’s worst loss came against San Francisco (a reality for several NFL teams) with a 34-3 defeat on Nov. 12.
There is a slightly different feel from the Jaguars team that surprisingly made the playoffs in 2022. Lawrence and the Jacksonville offense have not been quite as crisp this season. With Lawrence’s recent injury, the Jags may be running out of time to work out the hiccups before the postseason.
Mounting Injuries Hurt Jaguars Super Bowl Chances
Lost in all the talk about Lawrence is the injury to the team’s top wideout Christian Kirk. The receiver will have surgery on an oblique injury with an estimated return timeline of six to eight weeks.
With just five weeks remaining in the season, Jacksonville would need to go on a deep postseason run for Kirk to have a chance at returning. As for Lawrence, all signs point to C.J. Beathard being the team’s QB1 for the foreseeable future. Jaguars head coach Doug Pederson declined to put a return timeline on the star quarterback.
“I’m not going to put that timetable on Trevor,” Pederson said, per ESPN. “I’m not going to put him in a box like that, but we’ll see how he is in a couple of days.”
Jacksonville’s remaining schedule is not intimidating, but there are few guarantees if the Jags are without Lawrence. The Jaguars face potential playoff teams, Cleveland and Baltimore, over the next two weeks.

Things get slightly easier to close the season, with matchups against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Carolina Panthers, and Tennessee Titans. Jacksonville does finish the regular season with two of their final three games on the road.
Are Jaguars Good Super Bowl Bet?
It is not impossible for the Jaguars to go on a deep playoff run resulting in a Super Bowl appearance. Yet, there is a reason why Jacksonville is not near the top of the odds.
Our NFL odds could continue to drop if the team struggles in Lawrence’s absence. If you are banking on a boost with Lawrence’s return, the value could be had in the coming weeks with the potential for Jacksonville to become even more of a longshot.
For now, the Jaguars appear to be a step behind AFC teams like the Baltimore Ravens, Kansas City Chiefs, and Miami Dolphins when you’re betting online.
