Let’s End the Debate: Josh Allen or Lamar Jackson for MVP?
With Two Weeks Left in the Season, the MVP Race Between Allen and Jackson Will Go Down to the Wire
A Two-Horse Race
There are only two weeks left in the 2024 regular season NFL schedule. While most fans are starting to get a clearer picture of what’s to come once the playoffs begin, there’s still one race that’s way too close to call and which could end up coming down to the last down of the season.
No, it’s not the race to see which team ends up with next year’s No.1 draft pick. Who honestly gives a horse’s ass about that right now? Get with the program here.

I’m talking about the race of who will win the 2024 NFL MVP Award: Buffalo Bills superstar quarterback Josh Allen or former two-time award winner, including last season, Baltimore Ravens human highlight-reel Lamar Jackson.
THE 2024 #NFL MVP IS JOSH ALLEN OR LAMAR JACKSON
Allen:
Total yards: 4,063
Touchdowns: 37
INT: 6
Completion Percentage: 63.8%
Passer rating: 101.2
Record: 12-3Jackson:
Total yards: 4,552
Touchdowns: 40
INT: 4
Completion Percentage: 67.9%
Passer rating: 120.6
Record: 10-5— MLFootball (@_MLFootball) December 23, 2024
Now, before you come at me, I know there have been plenty of debates around NFL rumors sites about the possibility of players like Saquon Barkley, Jared Goff, and even Joe Burrow if he miraculously manages to squeeze the Bengals into the playoffs.
But we all know this race is between Josh and Lamar. So, who has the best betting odds to become the 2024-2025 NFL regular season MVP winner?
Let’s debate.
Does Lamar Have the Chops to Repeat?
Tell me something you think any football player can do on offense. I’m sure I can find at least one video or NFL news testimony of somebody talking about how Jackson already did it with Baltimore, be it this season or in any of his two previous MVP-winning years.
That’s the kind of player football fans get in Lamar. A player who, while continuing to grow in the league and expanding his talents, still does enough to be considered almost in a league of his own, all while donning women’s perfume to smell nice while tearing up opposing defenses.

If we base ourselves on stats alone, Jackson is en route to having one of his best seasons yet, going potentially for over 4,000 passing yards and 1,000 rushing yards, making him the first player in NFL history to achieve said combined numbers.

Even if Jackson has benefited greatly from having Derrick Henry around this season, it’s still very obvious that Baltimore’s offense lives, breathes, and works through what Lamar brings every week, making his case to repeat as MVP winner and moving into the three-time winners club a strong reality.
Allen’s Case for MVP Is Almost Too Strong to Debate
I’m no fan of the Bills. As a diehard New York Jets fan, I always wish the worst for every team in the AFC East. It’s in my blood. It’s who I am. But also, as an unbiased football fan, I can’t deny that Allen’s case for MVP has continued to take more and more shape as the season winds down to its final downs.
Simply put, take away Allen from Buffalo, and we’re talking about a team that would be fighting to land a spot within the first five pickers in next year’s draft instead of going for a playoff bid. That in itself speaks volumes of the level of talent and importance Allen holds for the Bills, especially this season and after getting engaged.
Right now, Josh Allen is my MVP. I’m not arguing whether it’s the right answer, but it’s *my answer*
Here’s my logic:

His numbers this season speak of a player who could be put into any team and automatically turn it into a title contender. With two weeks left, Allen could easily finish the season with 4,000+ passing yards and at least 30 passing touchdowns.
Who cares if people are hating on his last performance against the Patriots? Allen has done plenty to have his name up there with Jackson as the MVP favorite. The only question remaining is, if he does end up winning the case for MVP, can he translate that into leading Buffalo on a deep playoff and, hopefully, Super Bowl LIX title-winning run?
So, Who Should Take It?
If it were up to me, personally, Daniel Saenz, your favorite BetUS neighborhood sports smack talker, I’m sorry Josh, but my vote is going to Lamar.
Throughout the season, I’ve seen some stunning performances. Up until a couple of weeks ago, my NFL pick and prediction for MVP revolved around Barkley and Allen before Jackson, but at the end of the day, just like that Spanish phrase that translates to “you can’t cover the sun with a finger” the same is to be said about Jackson’s performance this season.

The hype surrounding everything Allen does makes him even more of a victim of any flop he may come across. The same just can’t be said about Jackson.
At the end of the day, I’m not ready to call this race. It’s too close for comfort, making it a must-watch TV for the next couple of weeks.

But if the NFL wants to do things the right way, it will stay away from the hype, blow the smoke away, and understand that if there’s one QB that deserves this award more than the other, it’s the guy leading Baltimore’s offense.
