McCaffrey’s Monster Year? Lock In His Props Now!

Bet against Christian McCaffrey’s prop bets at your own peril, especially in San Francisco 49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan’s offense. McCaffrey’s props are once again set high, but so is the star’s production in recent years.

It may seem like a lifetime ago since the Niners acquired McCaffrey via a trade with the Panthers. Yet, 2023 marked McCaffrey’s first full season in San Francisco.

McCaffrey posted 272 carries for 1,459 rushing yards and 14 touchdowns during 16 appearances in 2023. The playmaker also added 67 catches for 564 receiving yards and 7 TDs through the air.

Here’s a look at McCaffrey’s outlook and prop bets heading into 2024.

McCaffrey’s 2024: Boom or Bust Bets?

My only concern with McCaffrey’s hitting some props is health. We have seen McCaffrey miss just one game over the last two seasons.

Yet, prior to his arrival in the Bay Area, McCffrey played a combined 10 games in the previous two seasons. Even when accounting for potential injuries, there are still plenty of props to like for McCaffrey.

My favorite of the bunch? Taking McCaffrey to hit the over on 5½ receiving touchdowns. I’d also be inclined to take the over on McCaffrey’s 1200½ rushing yards.

If you are extremely bullish on McCaffrey’s outlook for 2024, there are a few exotic bets you can take for the playmaker. NFL betting odds have McCaffrey surpassing 2,000 rushing yards at +1400.

No, the 49ers Didn’t Make Any Major Running Back Additions

Just in case you have been on vacation from NFL news since season’s end, here’s a quick refresher on the Niners offseason. No, San Francisco did not make any major running back additions.

The 49ers still have Elijah Mitchell, but the vet has not proven to be a threat to McCaffrey’s touches. If there is anything to keep an eye on, it is the uncertainty at wide receiver.

There have been plenty of NFL rumors regarding potential trades for both Deebo Samuel and Brandon Aiyuk. Despite the rumors, so far both playmakers remain on the roster. Their potential unhappiness is worth monitoring during the season.

Kyle Shanahan on Christian McCaffrey: ‘What He Does Is Second to None’

If anything, it could mean McCaffrey’s workload increases even more if tensions mount. Just as a reminder, the Niners really love McCaffrey. Here’s how Shanahan gushed about the star back in January.

“He’s had the best year as an offensive player that I’ve been a part of,” Shanahan said, per 49ersWebZone.com. “It’s been on a lot of good offenses and some years with some really good players, but Christian has been amazing in every facet we’ve asked him. I mean, when we throw him the ball, when we hand off the ball, when we give it to other people and he’s got to block or just carry out being a distraction or a decoy, he’s amazing.”

“The durability he’s had, how hard he goes, how hard he practices, how hard he prepares, which started way before the season started, really just after last season ended. Just the consistency, physically and mentally, of what he does is second to none.”

If there is anything that can slow McCaffrey down in the NFL odds, it appears it will only be his health.
