Monday Night Football Live Betting Strategy Guide for NO vs CAR

NFL fans are in for a treat with two Monday Night Football divisional games taking place in primetime tonight. Double the action means double the NFL betting tips we can dish out for MNF.

The first game features the New Orleans Saints and new QB David Carr taking on the Carolina Panthers and rookie signal-caller Bryce Young.

The “late” game kicks off just an hour later, with the 0-1 Pittsburgh Steelers playing host to the 1-0 Cleveland Browns.

We’ve covered these games from several angles already, including full game previews and prop betting predictions. But I wanted to take another look at the early game featuring the Saints and Panthers.

As we inch closer to game time, I wanted to add a breakdown for MNF to the mix with some in-play NFL betting-related stats. It’s impossible to make picks on live odds, but with the right information, you can make the most of your live wagers.

Bryce Young Props if Panthers Are Losing

Each NFC South team made NFL betting news by adding new starting QBs since the start of last season, and they all showed their shiny new toys off in Week 1. Unfortunately for the Panthers, the No. 1 pick in the 2023 NFL Draft fell flat in his much-anticipated debut under center.

After going 20 for 38 with 146 yards, one touchdown and two interceptions, Young has a lot of work to do to prove he was worthy of Carolina’s top pick. I know one week won’t define his career, but it’s all we have to work with, and it wasn’t good.

While Young’s interceptions occurred when the score was tied, or the Panthers were winning, I think he’s at risk of making bad decisions when Carolina loses. The Saints are favored, so it’s fair to assume that the Panthers will find themselves behind at some point.

With a potential 0-2 record to start the season, Young will feel the pressure after going 10 for 22 with 59 yards and one interception in the second half of Week 1’s loss. I think this will lead to more mistakes and more interceptions.

The Saints meanwhile lead the NFL in opponent interception throw rate at 8.82% after their Week 1 victory over the Titans. They were among the best sports bets on the board last week.

If you want to wager on a Young INT pregame, the NFL odds at BetUS Sportsbook are -150, but the in-play odds should be more valuable if you pay attention.
