The rich got richer as four of the top five teams in last week’s NFC Super Bowl power rankings came away with victories. The lone exception came when the Washington Commanders fell to the Philadelphia Eagles, one of the two teams ahead of them.
Don’t expect much movement in this week’s Super Bowl power rankings, at least at the top as the Detroit Lions and the Philadelphia Eagles are the favorites to meet for the NFC Championship Game. Detroit has made NFL news with its current eight-game winning streak while the Eagles are winners of six in a row.
There aren’t any games that can match the Week 11 showdown between the Eagles and Commanders with no games veaturing teams with winning records. The Packers-49ers, Cardinals-Seahawks and Eagles-Rams matchups could shake up the NFC power rankings. The BetUS sportsbook odds have the Arizona-Seattle matchup as a Pick’em.
Let’s take a look at the top contenders in the NFC as the NFL futures odds have the Detroit Lions at +350 followed by the Eagles at +800 in the odds of winning the Super Bowl. The Lions are the favorite to win the Super Bowl after Kansas City lost for the first time this season.

Jacksonville opened the Week 11 game with the Lions with a field goal. Detroit didn’t seem to be worried as the Lions scored touchdowns on its first seven possessions. The Lions had the ball nine times and had they chosen to kick a late field goal rather than run out the clock on the final possession, they would have come away with points each time they had the ball. The Lions lead the NFC with an 8-2 mark against the NFL spread.
Detroit had 449 passing yards even though star tight end Sam LaPorta did not play. Now comes games against the Indianapolis Colts and the Chicago Bears. The NFL odds list Detroit as the nine-point favorites on the road against second-year quarterback Anthony Richardson and the Colts. It is the most that the Lions have been favored by on the road since a 2014 matchup with the Chicago Bears.
Detroit leads the NFL with a +159-point differential. The only loss for the Lions came in Week 2 against Tampa Bay when Detroit had more than twice as many yards as the Buccaneers.

2. Philadelphia Eagles (+350)
Last Week Ranking: 2
After a laugher against the Dallas Cowboys, the Eagles trailed by seven points against Washington early in the second half before having three touchdowns and a field goal in a span of four possessions to take control of the NFC East clash.
Washington made it a one-score game with 28 seconds to play to make the game appear closer than it actually was. The Eagles now lead the Commanders by 1½ games in the division as they look to win the NFC East for the fourth time in the last eight seasons. The Eagles are priced at -600 to win the division title.

Saquon Barkley has enjoyed quite the first season with the Eagles as he has 1,137 rushing yards while averaging 5.8 yards per carry. Quarterback Jalen Hurts is completing 69% of his passes.
After playing the 5-5 Los Angeles Rams in Week 12, three of the next four games come against teams with winning records.

3. Washington Commanders (+1500)
Last Week Ranking: 3
Even with a loss, the Commanders remain at No. 3 since neither the Minnesota Vikings nor the Green Bay Packers were impressive in Week 11 wins.
Before the rematch with the Eagles three days before Christmas, Washington plays three teams with a combined record of 9-22.
Reality is setting in for rookie quarterback Jayden Daniels. Daniels has passer ratings under 90 in back-to-back games for the first time this season. He is now down to -600 in NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year odds.
The good news is that running back Brian Robinson returned after missing the last two games. However, top receiver Terry McLaurin was slowed by injury in the loss to Philadelphia. Keep an eye on the NFL injury report for updates.
4. Minnesota Vikings (+1000)
Last Week Ranking: 4
There was a Cam Akers sighting for the Vikings in a victory over the two-time Tennessee Titans. Akers carried the ball 10 times for 25 yards and also had a touchdown catch in the 23-13 win.
The running game was stuck in neutral with an average of 2.5 yards per carry. Sam Darnold threw for two scores and ran for another. Justin Jefferson was more involved with 81 yards on six catches after having a season-low 48 yards in Week 10. Tight end T.J. Hockenson was pretty quiet with 13 yards on two receptions.
Minnesota is still just a game out of first place in the NFC North Division and tied for the second-best record in the NFC, but it is hard to move the Vikings up after a five-point win over Jacksonville and a 10-point win over Tennessee.
5. Green Bay Packers (+1000)
Last Week Ranking: 5
Green Bay needed to block a late field goal to avoid losing to the Chicago Bears for the first time since 2018. The Packers won despite converting just once on third down and having the Bears finish with more yards.
Christian Watson, who finished with less than 40 receiving yards in six of his first eight games this season, broke free for a 60-yard catch en route to 150 yards on four receptions.
This is the time of the year during the 2023 season when quarterback Jordan Love began to pick things up. He only attempted 17 passes on Sunday and more will be needed for him for the Packers to make noise in the NFC playoffs.
The Packers are -1 against the San Francisco 49ers in online betting. That starts a tricky four-game stretch with matchups against the 49ers, the Miami Dolphins, Detroit Lions and Seattle Seahawks.
6. Arizona Cardinals (+2000)
Last Week Ranking: 6
Arizona is coming off a bye week. Two of the other three NFC West teams won in Week 11 as things are pretty tight in the division race. Arizona leads the division with a record of 6-4 with the Rams, 49ers and Seahawks all tied at 5-5.
Will the extra week of preparation help rookie receiver Marvin Harrison Jr. after finishing with a total of 88 yards in the previous two games?
Arizona is listed by the NFL betting odds as the road favorite against Seattle. This is just the second time in the last 13 seasons that Arizona is favored in Seattle.
