NFC Week 17 Betting Rundown

NFL Online Betting

As we march towards the end of the 2020 NFL season, we point our online betting focus towards the playoff picture for both conferences. Specifically, the NFC Week 17 betting preview and all the possible playoff implications that could be coming from this week of football. We start off with a game that doesn’t affect who makes the playoffs, however, as the Atlanta Falcons take a trip to face off against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Atlanta Falcons vs Tampa Bay Buccaneers

NFL Odds: Buccaneers -6.5

The Atlanta Falcons were so close to winning their past two games and have been so competitive lately under their interim head coach. Their offense has been deadly even without Julio Jones and Todd Gurley and their defense has improved drastically since the beginning of the season. For the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, they were able to dominate the Detroit Lions so badly that they were able to pull their starters as soon as the second half kicked off. These two teams battled it out earlier in the season with the Falcons holding onto a 17-point lead at halftime in that game. It should be another equally hard-fought battle with the Falcons hoping to kick the Buccaneers further down the NFC ladder.

Pick: Buccaneers -6.5

Dallas Cowboys vs New York Giants

NFL Odds: Cowboys -3

The Dallas Cowboys have been explosive on offense in recent weeks and it has rallied them back into the playoff conversation. Andy Dalton has been phenomenal lately and they now sit just outside first place in the division but would need a Washington Football Team loss and a win over the New York Giants. However, that won’t be easy as the Giants are also one win away from sneaking into the postseason but would also need a Washington loss themselves. This game is bound to be a classic division rivalry between two teams that already hate each other. But Dallas has been so hot on the offensive side of the football that it is hard to bet against them.

Pick: Cowboys -3

Minnesota Vikings vs Detroit Lions

NFL Odds: Vikings -7

The Minnesota Vikings were trampled in their last game and their playoff hopes have been diminished ever since. They are now officially eliminated from postseason contention similar to their opponent in this game, the Detroit Lions. Neither of these teams have anything to play for rather than draft position. However, each team will be fighting to end the year on a high note. The Vikings have a very talented offense but have just been decimated on the defensive side of the ball. The Lions could possibly be without Matthew Stafford this game due to him having a slew of minor injuries. This will be another close division game, but the Vikings should be able to come out on top and win handily.

Pick: Vikings -7

New Orleans Saints vs Carolina Panthers

NFL Odds: Saints -6.5

The New Orleans Saints need a win here to solidify themselves as the number two seed in the NFC. A win over the Carolina Panthers would do so. The Saints shouldn’t be resting anybody this week as they may not be able to get a first-round bye in the playoffs. On the other hand, the Panthers are already eliminated from playoff contention and are simply trying to make a statement before this season comes to a close. The first game between these two teams came down to the last possession. You can expect this game to be the same way. However, the Saints are a far better team in almost every aspect of this game and should be able to win this.

Pick: Saints -6.5

Green Bay Packers vs Chicago Bears

NFL Odds: Packers -5.5

This game has the biggest playoff implications out of the bunch this week. A win would lock the Green Bay Packers into the number one seed in the NFC and a first-round bye. A Chicago Bears win could put the Saints into the number one seed and sneak the Bears into the playoffs. Green Bay dominated the battle between these two teams last time they met this season. However, it should be a far different game this week. Chicago changed play-calling duties and have looked like a completely different offense ever since. The underdog has the opportunity to fight for their playoff lives this week and should drag this game down to the wire.

Pick: Bears +5.5

Seattle Seahawks vs San Francisco 49ers

NFL Odds: Seahawks -5.5

The Seattle Seahawks have already clinched the division title but are hoping to make a push for the number two seed in the NFC with a victory over the San Francisco 49ers this weekend. The 49ers are coming into this game with nothing to play for. And, the majority of their starters are out due to injury, including star wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk. Aiyuk was added onto the injury report earlier this week. This has the potential to be a close game all the way through. Seattle has been so much better than San Francisco all season long. The Seahawks should put the 49ers to rest this week.

Pick: Seahawks -5.5

Arizona Cardinals vs Los Angeles Rams

NFL Odds: Rams -1

The Arizona Cardinals need to pick up a win here in order to lock themselves into the postseason. But, they could be heading into this game without their star quarterback Kyler Murray. The same goes for the Los Angeles Rams. They also need a win to make the playoffs this year and are missing key players. They will be without their franchise quarterback Jared Goff along with their star wide receiver Cooper Kupp. This matchup will look far different than their matchup earlier in the season. Arizona should be able to win this division battle even if both Murray and Goff can’t suit up.

Pick: Cardinals +1

Washington Football Team vs Philadelphia Eagles

NFL Odds: Football Team -1.5

The Washington Football Team is battling for their playoff lives this week. A win here would lock them into the postseason. Meanwhile, the Philadelphia Eagles are almost certainly out of the picture regardless if they are able to pick up a victory here. We will hopefully get to see the veteran Alex Smith go up against a future star,Jalen Hurts, in a heated division battle. Washington should win given their talent advantage.

NFC Week 17 Betting Pick: Football Team -1.5
