It was a big week in the NFL injury news department, with reigning NFL Offensive Player of the Year Christian McCaffrey of the San Francisco 49ers being placed on injured reserve to end a season already shortened by injuries. Fellow 49ers running back Jordan Mason could also miss the rest of the season as San Francisco is hurting at the position with its playoff hopes fading with each passing week.

When looking at the games being impacted by injuries, not all games are treated the same. Matchups with teams fighting for playoff spots will take precedence over those between teams just playing out the remainder of their schedules.

When looking at the NFL odds, the biggest line movement featured the 49ers, as the Chicago Bears opened as a six-point underdog and now are 3½-point underdogs.

When looking at the NFL injury report, New York Giants linebacker Bobby Okereke, Minnesota Vikings cornerback Stephon Gilmore, Tampa Bay Buccaneers safety Mike Edwards and 49ers offensive tackle Trent Williams are among the players who will miss Week 14 games.

Let’s look at three games that will be impacted the most by the absence of injured players, including a matchup between a pair of AFC East rivals.

3 Games In Week 14 Impacted By Injuries

1. New York Jets vs Miami Dolphins

The New York Jets are on the verge of missing the playoffs for the 14th season in a row and could go into their matchup with the division-rival Miami Dolphins without some key players. Keep that in mind when making your NFL predictions.

Linebacker C.J. Mosley has been ruled out, while top running back Breece Hall and star cornerback Sauce Gardner are both doubtful. Rookie Olumuyiwa Fashanu joins fellow offensive linemen Morgan Moses and Alijah Vera-Tucker among the players with the Jets carrying questionable tags.

The Dolphins also have some injuries for those who bet online to monitor as they look to make a late run at the playoffs. Running back Raheem Mostert (hip), cornerback Kader Kohou (back), linebacker Bradley Chubb (knee) and offensive tackle Terron Armstead (knee) are questionable.

It wasn’t all bad news for Miami as receiver Tyreek Hill has no injury designation after practicing without restriction late in the week.

2. Philadelphia Eagles vs Carolina Panthers

The Philadelphia Eagles will need to show off their depth in the secondary with safeties Reed Blankenship and Sydney Brown both out for Sunday’s game against the Carolina Panthers.

Tight end Dallas Goedert will also miss the game as will receiver Britain Covey.

Receiver DeVonta Smith looks to be good to go as the Eagles move closer to winning the NFC East title. He could be one of the more popular NFL player props for Week 14.

Rookie receiver Jalen Coker is doubtful, while linebackers Jadeveon Clowney and Josey Jewell and safety Nick Scott are all questionable for the three-win Panthers. Tight end Ja’Tavion Sanders, cornerback Caleb Farley, linebacker D.J. Wonnum and offensive lineman Robert Hunt also carry questionable tags even though they have been able to practice late in the week for Carolina.

The BetUS Sportsbook odds list Philadelphia as a 13½-point favorite against visiting Carolina.

3. Buffalo Bills vs Los Angeles Rams

The Buffalo Bills and the Los Angeles Rams are in different places in the battle for playoff spots. The Bills have already clinched the AFC East title and need to keep winning to have a chance to earn the top seed in the AFC. The Rams are just a game out of first place in the NFC West heading into Week 14.

The Bills hope to have tight end Dalton Kincaid, defensive tackle DeWayne Carter, receiver Keon Coleman and offensive lineman Tylan Grable when they hit the road to face the Rams.

Tight end Tyler Higbee and offensive lineman KT Leveston are out for the Rams. Jared Verse, one of the top betting contenders for the NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year award, joins offensive tackle Alaric Jackson with a questionable injury designation after being able to practice on a limited basis.

Injuries are a part of the game, but make sure you have knowledge of who will be playing and who won’t before you do your online sports betting on the Week 14 games.
