Allen is the favorite in the NFL futures odds to win the award, which is given to the player who has been deemed the “most valuable” in the regular season by a panel of voters. Allen’s Bills won their fifth straight AFC East title with 13 wins.

Lamar Jackson, who won the award in 2019 and 2023, led the Baltimore Ravens to the AFC Central title with 13 more TD passes than Allen and is a logical choice at better odds if you are heading to the BetUS sportsbook to make a wager..

We will run down all the MVP candidates ahead.

Top Picks To Win The NFL MVP

1. Allen Most Important To His Team?

Allen has done just about everything in his seven-year career except reach a Super Bowl and win an NFL MVP.

This could be the year for one, or both. Allen was second in the voting for the NFL MVP in 2020, but he could win it this season with 28 touchdown passes and one receiving. He entered the season as the second favorite at +800 in NFL futures odds.

Allen’s No. 1 receiver, Stefan Diggs, was traded, but he finished with the fewest interceptions (six) in his career and his second most rushing scores (12). The voters who place him No. 1 on their lists will do so because he was most valuable to his team.

You won’t get much value on Allen to win at -500 odds, but you can use him in an award parlay.

2. Jackson Owns Best Numbers, Highlights

Perhaps the biggest reason Jackson may not win the award is the Louisville standout has already won two.

Jackson has done little wrong this season with 41 touchdown passes and only four interceptions. Per NFL betting trends, his 119.6 passer rating leads the league and his Ravens battled back after losing the first two games of the season to win 12 of 15.

It is not a given that the voters will lean toward Allen, so your best value in online betting should be on Jackson at +350 odds. The speedy Jackson also rushed for 915 yards and four TDs this season.

3. RBs Barkley, Henry Deserve Consideration

The last non-quarterback to win the NFL MVP was Adrian Peterson of Minnesota in 2012 and it is unlikely that streak will end.

That doesn’t mean there haven’t been any running backs who deserve high votes. Philadelphia’s Saquon Barkley and Baltimore’s Derrick Henry have combined for almost 4,000 rushing yards and boast 33 total touchdowns combined.

Barkley transformed the Eagles’ offense with 2,005 yards and 13 rushing scores (two receiving) while Henry bulldozed his way to 1,921 rushing yards and 16 TDs (two receiving).

It would be a good bet on NFL for one of them to finish third in the voting.

4. Burrow, Goff, Darnold Among Longshot Picks

Allen and Jackson would have had competition in the NFL expert picks if the Cincinnati Bengals made the playoffs.

Bengals QB Joe Burrow had an MVP season with league bests of 43 touchdown TD strikes and 4,918 passing yards. Cincinnati’s porous defense probably cost him the MVP.

Two other quarterbacks are worthy of being in the top five of the voting, including Detroit’s Jared Goff and Sam Darnold of Minnesota. Darnold may be the favorite in the NFL lines to win Comeback Player of the Year. Goff is second in the league in passing yards (4,629).
