Sundays are officially the best day of the week, and it’s not just because it’s a day off from work. It’s all about my TV, and NFL football. Now that Week 1 is in the books and we’ve seen how some teams fared in their season openers, I’ve updated my AFC divisions and teams overview with the latest power rankings. Consider this your new and improved cheat sheet for upcoming games.

So, let’s dive back in and I’ll walk you through the changes I made, why I made them, and what you can expect from my NFL picks this week.

AFC Super Bowl Rankings: Top 6 Contenders

1. Kansas City Chiefs (+500)

Last Week: 1

The Kansas City Chiefs have once again proven to be the top dog on this list. They went nine rounds with Baltimore at Arrowhead Stadium in Week 1 and, as everyone expected, it was a dogfight. But, no surprise, Kansas City walked away with the win to kick off its season.

Even though the Chiefs led all teams in most yards allowed defensively, giving up a staggering 452 yards to the Baltimore offense, their Super Bowl experience, season roster and offensive firepower continue to pole vault them to the top of the pile. Kansas City stays No. 1. Case closed.

2. Buffalo Bills (+1600)

Last Week: 5

“Jeremy, how can you actually put Buffalo at the two spot?’ Hang on, don’t get all worked up. Let me explain. Call me crazy, but without Stefon Diggs and the locker room drama out of the picture, everything seemed to click for this restructured Bills squad as they took on the Arizaona Cardinals at Highmark Stadium.

The offense was firing on all cylinders — Josh Allen ran in two touchdowns and threw for another two, hooking up with receivers Khalil Shakir and Mack Hollins. Although it might not have been James Cook or rookie Keon Coleman’s day to shine, they still played a big part in the Bills’ home-opening win.

Here’s the truth: I’d call this team a number one contender in Super Bowl 59 odds based solely on its offensive firepower. The Bills have everything they need to rack up points all season long, but they’ve historically struggled as the season progresses and the games get more crucial. Let’s see how they stack up against the Dolphins in a divisional showdown this week

3. Baltimore Ravens (+1200)

Last Week: 2

Where do we even start with Baltimore? Despite all the hype around running back Derrick Henry joining the team this offseason, the Baltimore Ravens still couldn’t get the job done against Kansas City, making it two years in a row they fell short to the Super Bowl champions.

We know what Lamar Jackson can do — whether it’s zipping the ball down the field or breaking off a 20-yard run, he’s capable of amazing things. But he’s lacking the offensive line protection he needs to perform at his best in the pocket. Jackson may have only one sack on the statsheet after Week 1, but the lack of help from the Ravens’ line had him in panic mode the majority of the time.

The Ravens have a lot of kinks to work out before they can seriously re-enter the “top two” Super Bowl debate. Sure, it’s only Week 1 and things can change, but right now, I don’t see this Baltimore team making a repeat deep playoff run or standing out as a reliable NFL futures betting pick.

4. Miami Dolphins (+2000)

Last Week: 3

Miami had its hands full against Jacksonville this past Sunday. The offense was tested right out of the gate, and for most of the game, it looked like Jacksonville had Miami’s number. That is, until Tyreek Hill broke free for an 80-yard touchdown pass from Tua Tagovailoa, who, by the way, threw for a whopping 338 yards, leading all AFC quarterbacks in Week 1.

Look, it’s always fun to watch the Dolphins, but they’ve got a shot to really prove that this could be their year in Week 2 when they host AFC East rivals, the Buffalo Bills. If the ‘Fins can keep things close and contain Josh Allen and the Bills’ offense, I might just have to move them up over the Ravens.

And with their 2025 Super Bowl odds being lowered to +2000, now’s the time to get in on the action before it’s too late.

5. Houston Texans (+1200)

Last Week: 4

The Houston Texans might have scraped by with a 29-27 win against the Colts, but watching C.J. Stroud in action, along with Joe Mixon’s 159 rushing yards and Stefon Diggs snagging two touchdown passes, shows the offensive potential they have at their fingertips. This trio could seriously shake things up across the NFL as the season rolls on.

Now that it’s clear this new lineup in Houston is no fluke and the Texans have come to play, I’d say if their offense stays healthy and their defense keeps bringing the heat like they did in Indianapolis, the Texans could be on their way to a Super Bowl 59 title.

Houston’s NFL odds to win Super Bowl 2025 have already dropped from +1400 to +1200, and here’s your warning: Put your money down on the Texans to go all the way before those odds drop even further.

6. Jacksonville Jaguars (+5000)

Last Week: 10

Never in a million years did I think I’d be putting the Jacksonville Jaguars in my top six contenders for any week, but here we are. They really surprised me — and probably all of us. Sure, they had a Florida showdown against the Dolphins, but heading into Miami and matching their high-octane offense, ultimately losing to a last-second field goal, is no small feat. Bravo, Jacksonville, really.

Their defense definitely needs some work, giving up 400 total yards to Miami, but the offense is looking promising. With Trevor Lawrence at the helm, Travis Etienne in the backfield and new wideouts Brian Thomas Jr. and Gabe Davis, the Jaguars might be onto something. Only time will tell if they can keep this level of play up as the season progresses.
