Does Jayden Daniels have the 2024 NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year all locked up? Going by the NFL odds, that’s a resounding “Yes!” The Washington Commanders quarterback is a whopping -20000 to capture the prized award as he led Washington to an improbable playoff spot with a 12-5 record. And while he also put together some lofty stats, we can still build a case for a pair of other contenders.

The 3 Best NFL Picks for NFL OROY
1. Jayden Daniels, QB, Washington Commanders
The Offensive Rookie of the Year Award is Daniels’ to lose. He’s not only put prolific NFL stats but has also been one of the most consistent quarterbacks. Daniels finishes the season with a 100.1 passer rating while his 70.6 quarterback rating (QBR) ranks fourth in the league.
Paired with Washington’s ascendant record, he’s not just the OROY favorite but a low-key MVP contender. Washington had one of the worst teams last season and was only projected to finish in the 6.5-win range. But led by Daniels, Washington almost doubled this number.
Daniels guided Washington to a 12-5 record and the No. 6 seed in the NFC. The Commanders visit the Tampa Bay Buccaneers as +3 underdogs in NFL betting lines for a Sunday Night Football matchup in the Wild Card round.
Should Daniels win the OROY award, he’ll be the first Heisman Trophy winner to capture it since Arizona’s Kyler Murray five years ago.
2. Brock Bowers, TE, Las Vegas Raiders
Daniels winning OROY will be even more impressive due to the seasons from Raiders tight end Brock Bowers and Broncos QB Bo Nix. In most other seasons, either Bowers or Nix could have easily won the award. The Raiders tight end had a historic campaign in which he set records and compiled All-Pro stats.

Bowers’ 112 receptions also rank third in the NFL this season. Only Ja’Marr Chase and Amon-Ra St. Brown caught more. Unfortunately, Bowers’ efforts were mostly in vain due to Las Vegas’ dismal season.
Still, Bowers has the makings of the next great tight end while continuing to be a boon to the franchise. At 22/1, it’s also tempting to bet online on Bowers to upset Daniels for the award. But, like the NFL MVP award, the voters tend to be biased toward quarterbacks…
Bet This Pick: Brock Bowers (+2200)
3. Bo Nix, QB, Denver Broncos
That’s why we’d rather use Nix as our bold NFL prediction to win the Offensive Rookie of the Year award. We’re not saying he will, but Nix narrowed the gap with Daniels. Denver’s QB started rocky. He only had three total touchdowns (one via passing) against four interceptions in his first four starts.
But in his final 13 starts, Nix compiled an OROY-worthy stat line. He completed 68.3% of his passes for 28 passing TDs, eight picks and a 103.2 passer rating. Nix was also on a heater in his last three starts as he held his own facing counterparts like Joe Burrow and Justin Herbert.
Nix has a daunting matchup in the first round of the playoffs with a road game against the Buffalo Bills and Josh Allen, the prohibitive favorite in NFL MVP odds.
The 60/1 NFL line is a bit ridiculous here. However, there is also no value in a losing bet. As impressive as Nix has been, Daniels did almost everything better. Washington has a better record and Daniels has the better stats. So while Nix may get some first-place votes, Daniels will win.
Question Of The Day
Which rookie quarterback has the record for passing TDs?
Justin Herbert set the NFL rookie record with 31 passing touchdowns in 2020.
