The good news is there will be more NFL odds for Week 8. Something tells me there are still more bad beats ahead. That said, misery loves company so we’re taking a look back at some of our worst moments.

To paraphrase Counting Crows, maybe next week will be better than the last.

Here’s a look at the bad beats around the NFL in Week 7.

Top 4 Bad Beats Ruined NFL Week 7 Picks

1. Lions Ruin ML Bets on Vikings

Never bet against Detroit’s Dan Campbell – or at least the coach’s field goal kicker. The Vikings were favored by 1½ versus the Lions in the NFL betting odds.

The Detroit Lions were trailing 29-28, only to secure a win thanks to a Jake Bates’ field goal with 15 seconds left to secure a 31-29 victory. The Vikings were not going to cover the spread, but the moneyline bettors had their hopes dashed with the late field goal.

2. Great Teams Cover … and Packers Prove They are Not a Great Team

The Green Bay Packers came away with a dramatic 24-22 win against the Houston Texans. There were plenty of angry bettors with this result.

Houston hit what appeared to be a potential game-winning field goal with 1:44 remaining in the game. Instead, Green Bay kicker Brandon McManus nailed a 45-yard field goal with no time remaining to seal the win.

The Packers notched the victory, but failed to cover the -2½ points in the NFL spreads. The field goal also ruined the hopes of Texans moneyline bettors.

3. Late FG by Raiders Shreds Rams’ ATS Bid

The Las Vegas Raiders were trailing the Rams 20-12 for much of the fourth quarter. Las Vegas was unable to secure a win against Los Angeles, which was a -7 betting favorite.

The challenge for Rams bettors is the Raiders successfully slid into a backdoor cover situation in the NFL lines. Las Vegas hit a 27-yard field goal with 2:46 remaining to close the deficit to five points (20-15).

It was good news for Raiders bettors but had Rams fans turning off the TV to binge “Outer Banks.” You know who didn’t bank? Rams bettors.

4. Colts End Fins’ Push

This is not a major one, but it is still worth mentioning. The Indianapolis Colts were winning 13-10, which would have allowed the Dolphins to at least get a push.

Instead, Indy’s Matt Gay hits another field goal after the two-minute warning to win the game 16-10. This allowed Indy to cover ATS at the BetUS Sportsbook. As for the Fins, not so much.
