NFL Week 8 QB Prop Picks: Give Love Plenty of Betting Love
- Green Bay’s Jordan Love could be the best bet as far as NFL QB props for Week 8
- But Kyler Murray may be in for a rough game, statistically, against Miami

It was an unexpectedly big week for a few quarterbacks this Week 7. Russell Wilson of Pittsburgh and Marcus Mariota of Washington came out and cashed for anyone who bet their NFL player props. But heading to Week 8, we are bearish on Mariota (or Jayden Daniels) in Washington’s matchup vs Chicago. Instead, show some love to a quarterback out of Green Bay.
Best, Worst QB Bets for NFL Week 8
1. PLAY: Jordan Love, Packers (vs Jaguars)
What’s not to love about Jordan Love? No quarterback has thrown more touchdowns since last season than Love, who now has 15 in 2024 despite missing two games and 45 since the start of the 2023 season. He’s a top NFL pick against a very favorable opponent in Jacksonville.

The Jaguars have given up the most fantasy points against quarterbacks this season. Even Patriots rookie Drake Maye had a solid outing against them. Jacksonville’s defense is in shambles and ranks at the bottom or close to it in most passing metrics.
Love can get a bit gung-ho in his throws. But that’s alright. He’s not bothered when he throws a pick and should easily rack up stats even with lofty totals on his NFL player props.
2. FADE: Kyler Murray, Cardinals (vs Dolphins)
Arizona’s Kyler Murray remains a maddeningly inconsistent quarterback. He can produce a gem in one week and then lay an egg the next. In Week 8, leave him on your bench or bet against his NFL game props when he faces Miami. The Dolphins are struggling but have actually been sharp on defense.
Miami has allowed the third-fewest fantasy points against opposing quarterbacks. It has given up the fewest passing yards and touchdowns. On defense as a whole, the Dolphins have not allowed more than 148 passing yards in five of their six games.
Murray is a dual-threat QB and may rack up rushing yards. He may even score a rushing TD and this is a prop worth exploring. But as far as his traditional QB stats, it may just underwhelm so leave him out for NFL predictions.

3. PLAY: Brock Purdy, 49ers (vs Cowboys)
Speaking of underwhelming, Brock Purdy and San Francisco have been a shell of themselves. We can blame injuries here as wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk joins superstar running back Christian McCaffrey on the sidelines. But this presents a nice “buy low” opportunity for Purdy when he faces the Dallas Cowboys. This is a solid “get well game” for him.

The Cowboys have also underperformed, especially on defense. Dallas has given up the second-most points in the NFL (28 per game). While it has played better on the road, it also faced the Giants, Browns and Steelers. The 49ers, even in their shorthanded form, are better than these teams.
We can bet online on Purdy to go over his QB props. He’s also a must-start in fantasy as the Cowboys give up the fifth-most points against opposing QBs.
4. FADE: Commanders QBs (vs Bears)
Jayden Daniels got hurt in Washington’s win over Carolina. But the results didn’t change as Mariota filled in nicely and starched the Panthers 40-7. However, facing the Bears will be like going from Dr. Jekyll to Mr. Hyde. Chicago has allowed the fewest fantasy points against opposing QBs. In comparison, Carolina has allowed the second-most.
Chicago sports a top-five scoring defense (16.8 points per game). The Bears have forced 13 turnovers, seven from interceptions, against only four passing touchdowns. While Daniels could threaten to score on his feet, he may be due for his worst game passing-wise.
And if it is Mariota, he’s a backup for a reason. The Bears will be all over him. Wait on NFL news to see who starts for Washington. But don’t feel bad about not betting on either QB.
