Odell Beckham Jr.’s Next Team: Potential Landing Spots

Following His Miami Dolphins Exit, OBJ Wants to Land in the Right Situation With a New Team

On the Hunt for a New Team

Odell Beckham Jr. is back on the market after the Miami Dolphins agreed to release the veteran wide receiver this past week. He cleared waivers according to Monday’s NFL news, so any team is eligible to sign him.

But OBJ has some ideas in mind as he searches for the “right situation” to play NFL games in 2024. A return to a team from his past would be preferable, which means the Ravens and Rams in this case. Both have a need at wide receiver, and they are in the playoff hunt according to the latest betting odds.

Beckham had solid chemistry with Matthew Stafford on the Rams during their Super Bowl season in 2021 before he tore his ACL in the big game. He hasn’t been the same player since. Odell Beckham Jr.’s stats in 2024 were not impressive as he caught just 9 balls for 55 yards with the Dolphins, an offense built on speed and pre-snap motion.

Beckham was much better on the Ravens in 2023 when he caught 35 passes for 565 yards from Lamar Jackson. The Ravens aren’t getting anything out of Diontae Johnson after trading for him, so maybe they could take another shot at OBJ if they feel they need another veteran for the postseason.

Here are some NFL picks and predictions on which other teams could be a decent fit for Beckham this year.

Pittsburgh Steelers

The Steelers have been trying to land a veteran wideout all year since they traded Diontae Johnson to Carolina. They acquired Mike Williams from the Jets but barely gave him any snaps. But things are starting to look very thin with George Pickens’ hamstring injury keeping him out of action. Beckham could be a decent option on 10-to-20-yard routes for Russell Wilson as the Steelers hope to win the AFC North from Baltimore.

Washington Commanders

This offense already has a lot of older receivers for rookie Jayden Daniels to throw to, including a 34-year-old tight end in Zach Ertz. But the wide receivers aren’t the deepest crew after Terry McLaurin, who is having a fantastic season.

Noah Brown caught that Hail Mary but hasn’t been very productive in the last month. The Commanders are likely headed to the playoffs, so they’ll need all the veteran help they can get to help their rookie passer out.

Los Angeles Chargers

Things haven’t always gone smoothly this year for the Chargers as Justin Herbert’s most reliable target is rookie Ladd McConkey.

Quentin Johnston is very inconsistent in his second season, and the team put Jalen Reagor on the injured list. If they were willing to give Reagor, a proven bust, a shot, then a veteran route runner like Beckham could be an option too as they try to return to the playoffs in Jim Harbaugh’s first season.

Philadelphia Eagles

For sure Giants fans would freak out if the Eagles were in the Super Bowl with OBJ and Saquon Barkley. But similar to Miami, the Eagles are an offense that’s struggled to develop a WR3 to go with the star duo of A.J. Brown and DeVonta Smith.

Jahan Dotson has just 12 catches, and with tight end Dallas Goedert on IR, getting Beckham as an insurance policy for the playoffs could be worthwhile.
