Philadelphia Eagles Punch Ticket to Super Bowl LVII
NFC East Champs Roll Over Injury-Riddled 49ers
The Philadelphia Eagles had their way with the San Francisco 49ers in Sunday’s NFC Championship Game at the Linc.
The 31-7 victory over the NFC West champions was made considerably easier because the 49ers lost their starting quarterback Brock Purdy in the first quarter to an elbow injury, and then his backup, Josh Johnson, to a concussion.
If you are counting, they were the third- and fourth-string quarterbacks for San Francisco in 2022.
Purdy returned after Johnson exited but was basically unable to throw a pass due to the elbow injury, which impacted a nerve.

The Eagles move on to Super Bowl LVII on Feb. 12 in Glendale, Az, at State Farm Stadium. They will play either the Cincinnati Bengals or Kansas City Chiefs, who met in the AFC Championship Game at Arrowhead.
