Head-to-Head

Pittsburgh prevailed 20-19 in Week 13 after Baltimore failed to execute a two-point conversion with 12 seconds remaining. The Steelers were a four-point favorite, so that decision clinched the victory for those who backed the Ravens while betting online. The two-point attempt also sealed the victory for bettors who played under 44. The underdog has delivered in eight straight meetings against the spread while Pittsburgh has won three in a row straight up.

Roethlisberger prevailed in what could have been his last home game at Heinz Field as Pittsburgh kept its playoff hopes alive with a 26-14 victory over Cleveland. The Steelers were a one-point underdog despite the sentimentality of Big Ben’s likely Steel City finale. Roethlisberger completed 24 passes for 123 yards and a touchdown. Najee Harris did most of the damage, rushing for 188 yards and a score. The under 43½ total was safer than it seemed as Harris completed the scoring on a 37-yard TD run with 51 seconds to play.

Injury Report

Wide receiver Diontae Johnson, center Kendrick Green and cornerback Joe Haden – all starters – were placed on the reserve/COVID-19 list. The offensive line was already banged up after tackle Dan Moore Jr. sustained an ankle injury against Cleveland. Guard Trai Turner (knee) also did not practice Wednesday.

Last Game

Baltimore has lost five straight after failing to hold a late lead in a 20-19 loss to the Los Angeles Rams. The Ravens didn’t trail as a seven-point underdog until Los Angeles scored a touchdown with 57 seconds left. The 47 total in the Las Vegas odds was not approached. Baltimore took a 7-0 lead on Chuck Clark’s 17-yard interception return. The Ravens scored the rest of their points on Justin Tucker field goals. The last was a 34-yarder with 4:30 to go.

Injury Report

Quarterback Lamar Jackson (ankle) didn’t practice Wednesday as it appears more and more likely that he is done for the season. Backup quarterback Tyler Huntley (illness), who has filled in admirably in Jackson’s absence, was a full participant Wednesday.

Betting on the Game

Baltimore must win and needs Indianapolis and the Los Angeles Chargers to lose, and Miami to lose or tie, to make the playoffs. Pittsburgh needs to win, Indianapolis to lose and the Raiders-Chargers game not to end in a tie. Indianapolis is playing Jacksonville.

The line has grown one point while the Ravens are getting hit pretty hard on the money line after opening at -210. It sounds like dismal weather will greet the teams as there is a 75 percent chance of rain and/or freezing rain. The under is 4-0 in Baltimore’s last four games as a favorite.

Four of the five losses during Baltimore’s slide have been by a total of five points with a pair decided on failed two-point tries in the final minute. Those who bet either way on the Steelers’ win total for 2021 will cash or cry after this one. Let the tears flow as the NFL predictions will side with the Ravens to salvage their season finale.
