While most NFC teams faced losses this weekend, you can bet that will influence my weekly rankings. So, let’s dive into the teams offering the best online betting opportunities as we look ahead!

NFC Super Bowl Rankings: Top 6 Contenders

1. Detroit Lions (+750)

Last Week Ranking: 2

Ladies and gentlemen, we have a new sheriff in town! This week, the Detroit Lions are taking the top spot after a well-deserved victory over the previously undefeated Minnesota Vikings, winning 31-29 on their own turf.

Not only did they take down one of only two unbeaten teams, but the Lions are also rolling with a 3-0 record on the road and a four-game winning streak. To say Detroit’s odds to win the NFC North are looking good would be an understatement; this team is showing serious Super Bowl potential.

The Lions’ offense was firing on all cylinders, with quarterback Jared Goff delivering a nearly flawless performance — 22-of-25 passing for 280 yards and two touchdowns. Running back Jahmyr Gibbs stole the show on the ground, racking up 116 rushing yards on just 15 carries, including two rushing touchdowns. Detroit now ranks second in the NFL, averaging 411 offensive yards per game.

Defensively, the Lions faced a tough challenge against a strong Minnesota offense. While they allowed 259 passing yards and 139 rushing yards, they still managed to make crucial stops, including an interception and four sacks on quarterback Sam Darnold. It might not have been their best defensive outing, but hey, a win is a win!

Looking ahead, the Lions will face off against the Packers and the Texans in back-to-back games. Let’s see if Detroit’s defense can keep up the momentum and contain these high-octane offenses

2. Minnesota Vikings (+1200)

Last Week Ranking: 1

Trailing behind the newly minted top dogs, the Detroit Lions, are the Minnesota Vikings. Sure, they suffered their first loss of the season, but it was no blowout — it came down to a last-second field goal.

Looking at the stats, they played decent football. Was it their best? Not exactly. But let’s be real: they were up against a talented Lions squad that was just one game away from the Super Bowl last season so that counts for something. Quarterback Sam Darnold threw for 259 yards on 22-of-27 passing, while running back Aaron Jones chipped in with 93 yards and a touchdown on 14 carries.

Defensively, though, the Vikings weren’t at their best. They allowed 280 yards through the air to Jared Goff and a whopping 144 on the ground — yikes!

As we look towards Week 8, Minnesota will hit the road to face the Rams. Let’s see if they can rise to the occasion and get back to their winning ways, or if they’ll stumble for the second week in a row.

3. Green Bay Packers (+1400)

Last Week Ranking: 3

Holding down the number three spot for the second consecutive week are the Green Bay Packers. They’re riding high into Week 8 with a three-game win streak after edging out a tough Texans team in a nail-biter, 24-22. This squad keeps impressing.

Offensively, the Packers hit a few rough spots, but they did face a talented Texans defense. Quarterback Jordan Love threw for 220 yards, while running back Josh Jacobs had a solid game, rushing for 76 yards on 12 carries and even catching a touchdown pass. Jordan Love is listed at +1400 in our odds to win the NFL MVP.

But let’s not overlook the real MVP: the Green Bay defense. They absolutely stifled the Texans’ passing game, holding them to just 86 yards — yep, you heard that right! They also managed to sack quarterback CJ Stroud four times. So why was the game so close? Well, while they locked down the pass game, the Packers struggled against the ground game, allowing 142 rushing yards.

All in all, they snagged another big win, proving they deserve a spot in my top three. In two weeks, they’ll face off against the Detroit Lions, and it’ll be fascinating to see how the league leader in takeaways (17) handles one of the most lethal offenses in the league.

4. Washington Commanders (+3000)

Last Week Ranking: 7

I know you might be ready to throw your computer out the window with this pick, but hang tight while I explain why I’ve got the Washington Commanders sitting at my fourth spot. Sure, a lot of teams notched wins this week, but Washington has really stood out, not just because they crushed the Panthers by 33 points, but also because they’ve now won four of their last six games. You see where I’m going with this?

Let’s talk about that game against Carolina. Despite rookie quarterback Jayden Daniels getting injured early on, backup Marcus Mariota stepped up big time, throwing for 205 yards on 18-of-28 passing and tossing in two touchdown passes. And the ground game? Oh, they had a field day, racking up 214 rushing yards, with Brian Robinson Jr. leading the charge with 71 yards on just 12 carries. Jayden Daniels is the current betting favorite in our odds to win NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year.

On the defensive side, Washington didn’t just stop the Panthers — they absolutely smothered them, holding them to a mere seven points. Quarterback Andy Dalton was limited to just 93 passing yards and tossed two interceptions. Yeah, it was total domination.

Nobody expected Washington to come out swinging like this, but at this rate, they’ve got solid NFL odds to win the NFC East. Seriously, how can they not? Keep an eye on rookie quarterback Jayden Daniels’ injury status; it’ll be pivotal for the team’s future success.

5. Seattle Seahawks (+5000)

Last Week Ranking: 10

Stumbling into the number five spot this week are the Seattle Seahawks. I know, another controversial pick, but despite their three losses in a row, they still hold the NFC West top seed and just snagged a 20-point road win against the Falcons — one of the hottest offenses in the league up until this past weekend.

The Seattle offense wasn’t exactly fireworks, but they executed when it mattered, and that’s what counts. Quarterback Geno Smith threw for 207 yards on 18-of-28 passing — not his best night, but he got the job done. Meanwhile, running back Kenneth Walker III rushed for 69 yards on 14 carries, including a rushing touchdown.

Defensively, the Seahawks did manage to cool down Atlanta’s offense, considering the 20-point margin. However, they still allowed 232 passing yards and a staggering 155 rushing yards.

Seattle needs to find a balance between being a dangerous offensive team and a reliable defense if they want to make a playoff push, let alone move up my rankings. Coming up next, they’ll face the Bills, which will be a real test for their defensive assignments as they try to contain an explosive Buffalo offense.

6. Atlanta Falcons (+3500)

Last Week Ranking: 5

And for my final and sixth spot this week, I’m giving it to the Atlanta Falcons. I know this week’s rankings are stirring up some real commotion, but hear me out. It was a tough call between teams with better records who lost this weekend and those with worse records and picked up a win.

So, I’m rolling with the Falcons, currently tied for first in the NFC South with a 4-3 record. Despite a tough 34-14 loss to the Seattle Seahawks, Atlanta has won three of their last four games, and I like them holding onto this spot.

That said, the Atlanta offense didn’t live up to its recent form. Quarterback Kirk Cousins a favorite at BetUS Sportsbook to win comeback player of the year) had a rough outing, throwing for 232 yards on 24-of-35 passing, with only one touchdown and two interceptions. On the bright side, running back Bijan Robinson carried the offense, rushing for 103 yards on 21 carries, including a touchdown. Tight end Kyle Pitts and wide receiver Drake London also chipped in — Pitts had 7 catches for 65 yards, and London grabbed 6 receptions for 63 yards, including a touchdown.

Defensively, it was the same old story for Atlanta. While they’ve been able to move the ball offensively in most games, their defense continues to be a problem. They allowed 236 passing yards and 103 rushing yards, contributing to their season average of giving up 336 total yards per game — a number that is simply not cutting it.

The Falcons’ defense needs to shape up, especially after taking a 20-point loss on their home turf. Looking ahead to Week 8, they face a crucial division matchup against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, with both teams tied for first place in the NFC South. Atlanta managed to pull off a close win against the Bucs earlier this season, so it’ll be interesting to see if they can do it again and keep their place at the top of the standings.
