Much will be made about the matchup between players as we debate Super Bowl LIX betting lines for the Kansas City Chiefs and Philadelphia Eagles. There are also the Super Bowl coaches who have a massive impact on this title matchup.

Chiefs head coach Andy Reid is no stranger to Super Bowls. Reid made the Big Game as Eagles head coach during the 2004 season but was unable to defeat the Patriots in the matchup.

The veteran head coach has led the Chiefs to five Super Bowls and has won three Lombardi Trophies.
Eagles head coach Nick Sirianni entered the season with rumors swirling about his future. Now, Sirianni is one win away from winning his first Super Bowl.
Here’s what you need to know about the two Super Bowl coaches and how it can affect your Chiefs vs Eagles picks.
Remember When Andy Reid Could Not Win the Big Game?
Reid has become a staple at Super Bowls just as much as a hilarious Budweiser commercial. Yet, we are not that far removed from Reid having a reputation as a coach who was unable to win big games.

Reid is once again facing his former team as a favorite in our NFL lines, but questions about his postseason success hovered over his tenure in Philly. Here’s how Associated Press’ Rob Maaddi described Reid prior to winning his first Super Bowl with the Chiefs.
“Andy Reid has won more games than any coach without a Super Bowl title, so people question whether he can win the big one,” Maaddi wrote for the NFL news outlet.
“The knock against Reid throughout his 21-year coaching career has been his inability to win a championship. He was 1-4 in conference title games during 14 seasons with the Eagles, and the Eagles lost to the Patriots in the Super Bowl after the 2004 season,” Maaddi added.
“Reid lost another conference title game at home last year with the Chiefs.”
Now, Reid now has a chance to make Super Bowl history by winning three straight Finals giving the coach four titles over his career. This is the funny thing about these narratives is they are true until things change.
A golfer “can’t win the major” then he goes to Augusta and secures a green jacket at the Masters. We saw similar commentary on Michael Jordan and LeBron James early in their careers.
Eagles HC Nick Sirianni Was on the Hot Seat
Heading into the 2024 season, Sirianni was being mentioned among the potential hot-seat candidates. There were questions about Sirianni’s relationship with quarterback Jalen Hurts.
“Things were off, including between the head coach and quarterback,” Jeremy Fowler and Tim McManus wrote on August 7, 2024. “We spoke with several sources who detailed a prolonged strain between Hurts and Sirianni during the 2023 campaign, with one source with direct knowledge of the dynamic describing the relationship as ‘fractured’ and unhealthy last season. At the root of the divide: a disconnect in offensive visions, with what a team source described as a lack of full respect for Sirianni’s X’s and O’s chops.
“With the 2024 season on the horizon, there is hope new offensive coordinator Kellen Moore can ‘bridge the gap between the two’ as one source close to Hurts put it.”
“He reminds me of a crypto bro, but the crash is coming… Can you imagine Andy Reid jousting regularly with fans?”

With the Eagles nearly a coin-flip pick in our NFL betting odds versus the Chiefs, something tells me it was more the presence of Saquon Barkley that “bridged the gap” between Hurts and Sirianni.
The Eagles coach has now taken Philly to the Super Bowl two times in four seasons. Those are pretty good odds for a so-called “coach on the hot seat.”
Nick Sirianni is the third NFL head coach to win 14+ regular season games in multiple seasons since the year 2000

Philadelphia narrowly lost 38-35 to Kansas City when the two met in the Super Bowl during the 2022 season. Last time around the seats were reversed as the Eagles were a 1.5-point favorite versus the Chiefs.
