There was a change at the top in the AFC power rankings with the Buffalo Bills taking over the top spot after knocking off the previously undefeated Kansas City Chiefs. It was hard to call what happened an upset considering that our preview picked the Bills to win.
Also the Pittsburgh Steelers shut down Lamar Jackson and the Baltimore Ravens once again while the Los Angeles Chargers scored late to beat the visiting Cincinnati Bengals. The Houston Texans had no issues with the hapless Dallas Cowboys as Houston delivered as the MNF betting favorite.
Things get going in Week 12 on Thursday with the visiting Pittsburgh Steelers listed as a four-point favorite against Cleveland.
When looking at the NFL futures odds, Kansas City still leads the way among AFC teams at +450 in the odds of winning the Super Bowl. Buffalo (+650) and Baltimore (+800) are other top AFC contenders.
AFC Super Bowl Rankings: Top 6 Contenders to Bet On
1. Buffalo Bills (+300 to win the AFC)
Last Week Ranking: 2
Josh Allen passed for one touchdown and threw for another in the fourth quarter as the Bills won their fourth straight regular-season game over Kansas City. Allen also led the Bills in rushing yards as James Cook had 20 yards on nine carries. Two of those went for touchdowns.
Khalil Shakir was busy with 12 targets as he continued to emerge as a go-to target for Allen. He is becoming a player prop option to consider.
Terrell Bernard has at least eight tackles in each of the last three games after missing the Seattle game.

2. Kansas City Chiefs (+210 to win the AFC)
Last Week Ranking: 1
Losing to Buffalo hasn’t hurt Kansas City come playoff time, with the Chiefs eliminating the Bills in 2021, 2022 and 2024. Time will tell if that NFL betting trend will continue especially since the Chiefs would have home-field advantage if the AFC playoffs began today.
Patrick Mahomes threw two interceptions in the loss to the Buffalo. The Bills turned the first miscue into seven points and the second one kept the Chiefs from making the huge AFC clash a one-score game.
It was another quiet game for tight end Travis Kelce, who had just two catches for eight yards. The Chiefs could get running back Isiah Pacheco back after he missed eight games. Check NFL news for updates on his status
The next two games come against the two-win Carolina Panthers and the three-win Las Vegas Raiders.
3. Pittsburgh Steelers (+800)
Last Week Ranking: 3
The Steelers have won five games in a row after topping the Baltimore Ravens and slowing down two-time MVP Lamar Jackson once again.
The offense didn’t go much against the Ravens with kicker Chris Boswell’s six field goals accounting for all of Pittsburgh’s points. However, the Steelers aren’t complaining.

George Pickens hauled in a season-high eight receptions against the Ravens. He has +110 odds for over/under 4.5 receptions on Thursday Night Football, so keep that in mind if you bet online.
Meanwhile. Steelers running back Najee Harris was more involved in the pass game with four catches and former Ravens linebacker Patrick Queen was a difference-maker on defense with 10 tackles.
Pittsburgh faces struggling division rivals Cleveland and Cincinnati in the next two weeks as the Steelers look to build on an 8-2 mark against the NFL spread.
4. Baltimore Ravens (+400)
Last Week Ranking: 4
The Ravens are now 4-4 in one-score games this season after falling by two points against Pittsburgh.
Derrick Henry has been held under 100 yards in back-to-back games for the first time since the opening two games of the season as teams are managing to slow down Baltimore’s dynamic running game.
Things don’t get much easier with the next two games against the Los Angeles Chargers and the Philadelphia Eagles. After getting to meet up with the New York Giants, there is another showdown with the Steelers.
5. Los Angeles Chargers (+1200)
Last Week Ranking: 5
It isn’t always pretty but the Chargers are finding a way to win in Jim Harbaugh’s return to the NFL.
There are questions about the availability of rookie receiver Ladd McConkey. He leads the Chargers in catches and receiving yards. Running back JK Dobbins could be on his way to a 1,000-yard season in his first season with the Chargers.
The Chargers are just two games behind eight-time AFC West champion Kansas City, but before meeting up with the Chiefs again, there are matchups with Baltimore and Atlanta.
6. Houston Texans (+1100)
Last Week Ranking: 6
There are games when the Texans will miss injured receiver Stefon Diggs. That was not the case on Monday night in a 34-10 victory at Dallas. Joe Mixon scored three touchdowns and Nico Collins returned after missing the previous five games.
The next three games come against teams with losing records before a huge Week 15 matchup with the Kansas City Chiefs. Houston already leads the AFC South by two games so they could be close to clinching the division by the time the matchup with Kansas City rolls around.
Keep an eye on the NFL injury report as the Texans hope to have edge rusher Will Anderson Jr. back sooner rather than later.
