With a win by the Houston Texans and a loss by the Indianapolis Colts, the Texans won the AFC South title to join the Buffalo Bills and the Kansas City Chiefs as AFC division champions. There should be some more clarity when the Pittsburgh Steelers meet up with the Baltimore Ravens in a showdown of the top teams in the AFC North

The Bills and Chiefs continue to set the pace in the AFC Power Rankings while the Steelers remain ahead of the Ravens in the battle for the No. 3 spot.

Things get started on Thursday night when the Denver Broncos face the Los Angeles Chargers. The Houston-Kansas City and Pittsburgh-Baltimore games are scheduled for Saturday.

The BetUS sportsbook lists the Jaguars vs Raiders matchup as the most competitive among those involving AFC teams in Week 16.

Buffalo is at +450 and has the shortest odds to win Super Bowl 59 among AFC teams followed by Kansas City at +600.

AFC Super Bowl Rankings: Top 6 Contenders to Bet On

1. Buffalo Bills (+180 to win the AFC)

Last Week Ranking: 1

The Bills made quite the statement by going into Detroit and snapping the 11-game winning streak of the Lions to improve to 11-3.

It was another impressive outing for quarterback Josh Allen, who threw for two touchdowns and ran for two others to give him five touchdown passes and five scoring runs in the last two weeks.

Buffalo is still two games behind Kansas City in the race for the top seed in the AFC playoffs. Since the Bills beat the Chiefs in the head-to-head matchup, we’re sticking with Buffalo as the No. 1 team in our weekly AFC power rankings. A loss by Pittsburgh to the Philadelphia Eagles gave sole possession of the No. 2 spot in the AFC standings to the Bills.

Buffalo wraps up the regular season with two games against the New England Patriots and one against the New York Jets. The Bills are listed by the NFL spread as a 14-point favorite against New England in Week 16.

Bet on the Bills to win Super Bowl LIX (+450)

2. Kansas City Chiefs (+250 to win the AFC)

Last Week Ranking: 2

The good news is that there was no late-game drama for the two-time defending Super Bowl champion Chiefs to deal with as Kansas City took care of business against the lowly Cleveland Browns.

The bad news is that an ankle injury could sideline quarterback Patrick Mahomes with some key games coming up against the Houston Texans, Pittsburgh Steelers and Denver Broncos. Monitor NFL news for updates on the status of Mahomes.

The Chiefs have some margin for error with a two-game lead in the race for the best record in the AFC with home-field advantage there for the taking.

Ten of the 13 wins for the Chiefs have come by seven points or less as Kansas won a ninth straight AFC West Division title.

Per Texans vs Chiefs betting tips, Kansas City joins Buffalo as the only team this season with an undefeated record at home. Houston is currently the slight favorite as Kansas City could be a home underdog for just the fourth time in the regular season over the last five seasons.

Kansas City has failed to cover against the spread in seven of its last eight games but still heads into Week 16 with the best record in the NFL.

Bet on the Chiefs to win Super Bowl LIX (+600)

3. Pittsburgh Steelers (+1200)

Last Week Ranking: 3

Pittsburgh is coming off a pretty forgettable effort in a Week 14 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles. The Steelers were outgained 401-163 and their quarterbacks had almost as many rushing yards as the three running backs for Pittsburgh.

The Steelers gave up more than 100 receiving yards to both A.J. Brown and DeVonta Smith in the 27-13 loss to the Eagles. The AFC North Division lead was cut to one game with Pittsburgh hitting the road to face the second-place Baltimore Ravens for a Saturday matchup.

Top receiver George Pickens missed his second game in a row. His absence has played a role in the recent offensive struggles. Pickens had eight catches for 89 yards in the first meeting of the season against the Ravens. Check the NFL injury report to see if Pickens will be able to go this weekend.

Pittsburgh trails only the Denver Broncos with a 10-4 mark against the NFL spread.

Bet on the Steelers to win Super Bowl LIX (+3000)

4. Baltimore Ravens (+400)

Last Week Ranking: 4

Baltimore rebounded from a five-point loss to the Philadelphia Eagles by rolling past a two-win New York Giants team as quarterback Lamar Jackson threw for five touchdown passes in the 35-14 victory.

After averaging more than five yards per carry in six consecutive games, running back Derrick Henry has been held under five yards per rushing attempt in four of the last five games and he hasn’t scored a touchdown in three straight games.

Henry only carried the ball 13 times in the loss to Pittsburgh last month. Those taking part in the NFL player props are hoping he will be more involved in the rematch.

Bet on the Ravens to win Super Bowl LIX (+750)

5. Denver Broncos (+1800)

Last Week Ranking: 7

The defense forced five turnovers as the Broncos extended their winning streak to four games with a 31-13 victory over the visiting Indianapolis Colts to move into sole possession of second place in the AFC West.

The win came despite a tough outing for rookie quarterback Bo Nix, who was limited to 130 passing yards with three touchdown passes and three interceptions. He was the leading rusher for the Broncos as Denver managed just 72 yards on 27 carries.

The Broncos don’t have much time to prepare for a key AFC West matchup against the Los Angeles Chargers on Thursday. The Chargers won the first meeting between the team thanks to scoring 10 points off two Denver turnovers.

When making NFL picks, keep in mind that the Broncos have covered in four of their five games as a road underdog this season.

Bet on the Broncos to win Super Bowl LIX (+4000)

6. Houston Texans (+1200)

Last Week Ranking: 6

Houston won its second game in a row and clinched a playoff spot despite being limited to just 181 yards by the Miami Dolphins. The defense came up with four turnovers in the 20-12 victory.

Next up is a road game against the AFC-leading Kansas City Chiefs. However, the Chiefs may be without quarterback and former MVP Patrick Mahomes.

One concern for the Texans is that second-year quarterback C.J. Stroud has been sacked at least four times in five of the last eight games. Per Texans vs Chiefs stats, Kansas City registered five sacks in Sunday’s win at Cleveland.

It has been an interesting stretch for Texans running back Joe Mixon. He has rushed for more than 100 yards in six of his last nine games. In the other three games, he was held to 46, 23 and 22 yards. He needs 90 yards to hit the 1,000-yard mark.

Bet on the Texans to win Super Bowl LIX (+3500)
